Entering Fushimi Inari Taisha in Kyoto, Japan: Little Did We Know Our Experience About To Unfold

This Shrine is in Central Kyoto not too far from our hotel that we were staying at. But, we took a taxi there…about 12 minutes. We could have walked, but it would have taken us a littel while, especially on the way home. Our walk up the front entrance is no indication of the experience that we had. I have many videos to share about these Torii gates as I try to pick the ones that reflected our highlights. We had watched a video about these gates before we left home that you can climb to the top or just go on a simple path and back down. I wasn’t really paying attention to that video as much as I should have! My natural tendency is to take the harder, more difficult route because what doesn’t break us will make us stronger…even on vacation…I can be a little annoying and intense about wanting the full experience. So, when we had to make the choice of whether to go up or go back down, poor Jason, he didn’t really have a choice. He did see someone coming down from the top who had an ice cream, so he was ready to attack this adventure!
