【紅葉2023】契園の紅葉散策　ぶらり旅 第408回 「佐賀県:大興善寺」 -アクセス,駐車場,混雑,紅葉,絶景,つつじ寺,九州,見頃-　Daikouzenji,SAGA

ふらっと出かけた場所を紹介しようと思います。
2023年11月に佐賀県基山町にある「大興善寺」に行きました。

・大興善寺
約1300年もの歴史を持ち、717年奈良時代の僧、行基菩薩により創建されたと伝えられます。
835年に一度消失したが、847年、慈覚大師円仁和尚によって再興されました。別名「つつじ寺」と呼ばれるほどのツツジの名所です。
本堂の裏山一帯の75,000㎡のツツジ園は、見頃の4月中旬～5月初旬になると約5万本のツツジで埋め尽くされます。
紅葉の名所としても有名で、四季を通じたくさんの人が訪れます。
また、数多くの文化財を所蔵するお寺でもあります。国の重要文化財に指定されている木造廣目天立像及び木造多聞天立像を国宝殿に安置されています。

つつじの見頃：例年4月中旬～5月中旬
紅葉の見頃：11月中旬～12月上旬

・契園（ちぎりえん）
福岡県筑紫野市と佐賀県基山町にまたがる「契山」のふもとにある自然の四季が楽しめる山林植物園で、特に春のつつじと秋の紅葉は絶景です。
山沿いにあるドーム球場規模の広大な敷地には、杉・檜の木々、つつじ、もみじ、アジサイ、シャクナゲ等が植えらている。
春は、約5万本のつつじの花々ともみじの新緑。秋は、多彩な紅葉模様が広がる観光名所になります。
また、夏のアジサイ、冬の雪景色など、一年中四季折々の風景が楽しめます。

開園時間：8時30分から日没まで
　　　　　8時30分から17時30分まで（紅葉期間中）

In November 2023, I went to “Daikozenji” in Kiyama-cho, Saga Prefecture.

・Daikozenji Temple
It has a history of about 1,300 years and is said to have been founded in 717 by Gyoki Bosatsu, a monk during the Nara period.
It disappeared once in 835, but was rebuilt in 847 by the priest Jikaku Daishi Ennin. It is so famous for its azaleas that it is also known as “Azalea Temple.”
The 75,000㎡ azalea garden on the mountain behind the main hall is filled with approximately 50,000 azaleas from mid-April to early May, the best time to see them.
It is also famous as a famous spot for autumn leaves, and many people visit throughout the year.
It is also a temple that houses many cultural properties. The wooden standing statues of Hirometen and Tamonten, which are designated as national important cultural properties, are enshrined in the National Treasure Hall.

Best time to see azaleas: Usually mid-April to mid-May

・Chigirien
This is a forest botanical garden located at the foot of Kiyama, which straddles Chikushino City, Fukuoka Prefecture and Kiyama Town, Saga Prefecture, where you can enjoy the natural beauty of the four seasons.The azaleas in spring and the autumn leaves in autumn are especially spectacular.
The vast grounds, the size of a dome stadium, are located along the mountain and are planted with cedar and cypress trees, azaleas, maples, hydrangeas, and rhododendrons.
In spring, there are about 50,000 azalea flowers and fresh green maples. In autumn, the area becomes a tourist attraction with its colorful autumn leaves.
You can also enjoy seasonal scenery all year round, such as hydrangeas in summer and snowy landscapes in winter.
