This park holds a very rich history including shrines, erected statues of important figures in Sendai’s history such as the legendary Date Masamune from the 1500’s, the samurai warlord who helped establish the city of Sendai, ruins of the original clan’s household, with a stunning view of the city from up on the hill!
When travelling to Sendai, visiting Aoba park and trying the local specialtly of gyutan and the Zunda shakes are an absolute must!
