Jesus, that ferry price… I once flew with gf from Stockholm to Budapest for about 250 kr. Btw sometimes you remember the rainy tiresome adventures longer then the easy sunny days. Looking forward to more hokkaido episodes!

Wow! You had been driving through my neighborhood！驚いた（笑）If you went to north part of Japan where than Ibaraki pref, you should probably try the convenience store named “Seico mart”. Many people say that their Onigiri, bento,and fried food is good than 7-Eleven’s one especially you are living in Tokyo. Just try it when you have the chance 😉👍

So look man, my wife and I have been along with ya'll since 2012. We've had a lot of misadventures with travel ourselves–including losing our first son in Taiwan in 2016. Your hitchhiking series kept us. Odd phrase, "kept us," but that's the best way to put it. We are planning on moving back out to East Asia, Japan this time, and it feels like perfect bookends, that as we had to return before with our deceased son, now we are going out with our second son, and we have a new Hokkaido journey to go along. Very cool how the world can work sometimes.
