Nice cloudy day in Kyoto means nice hike up to Mt Inari. It takes about 2-3 hours from JR Inari station which is covered by your JR pass. Unfortunately, most people only stop at the bottom of the hike for pictures and they miss out on the rest.
Did you know that you will find thousands of Torii gates along the way? Some were being repaired and new ones installed on this hike.
