Things don’t always go as planned as what happened here at the Nachi Fire Festival in Wakayama. Part of the festival of Nachi Falls is a procession of large blazing torches from the shrine up the steep steps. In the procession one torch bearer dropped his torch in a shower of sparks. Fortunately no one was hurt and the torch was still intact.
