Matsuo Taisha was built in 701 and is famous for the god of sake brewing. Sake barrels piled like mountains that catch your eye when you step into the precincts were donated by sake brewers from all over the country. There is a legend that if you add spring water called Kamenoi to the original water and brew sake, it will not spoil. In late April, 3,000 yamabuki trees are in full bloom along the Ichinoi River between the two-storied gate and the main hall.

〜松尾大社〜

松尾大社は701年に建立された社で、酒づくりの神様として有名。境内に足を入れると目を引く山のように積まれた酒樽は、各地の酒造業者が奉納したもの。亀の井とよばれる湧き水を元水に加え酒を醸造すれば腐らないという言い伝えがある。4月下旬には楼門から本殿の間の一ノ井川沿いなど境内一円に3,000本もの山吹が咲き誇る。
