Day 1: Arrival in Tokyo | Japan Trip 2019

We touched down in Tokyo at about 3pm. We were tired and hungry but wanted to make the most of our first day in Japan, even if there were only a few useable hours left. We took the Tokyo Monorail into the central part of the city and got off at Hamamatsucho, specifically to go to Jason’s favourite ramen place called Fukki, not far from the station.

We wandered around the Shibadaimon area for awhile, passing by many familiar places, reminiscing about our first 2 trips to Japan. Then we got back on the train and on to Uguisudani, which was the nearest station to the hostel we stayed at for the next 2 nights, called Tokyo Guesthouse Toco. (There will be a video all about that coming out in the next few days.)
We checked in and put our stuff away, then headed out again to explore around Uguisudani station to see the area’s love hotels and to have our first bowls of gyudon at Matsuya.

Regular viewers of our channel will notice highlights from some of our other videos.

We won’t be doing videos like this for every single day (but we might do a few more here and there). Day 1 was just a mash of things we wanted to remember.
