Bonjour, mΓͺme si vous trouvez Γ§a inutile, Γ§a serait sympa de penser Γ activer le doublage automatique sβil vous plait π’ parfois il y est, parfois non
Before you pack, check your healthcare/medical insurance to make sure that you have coverage in Japan, or anywhere you might go. Thanks for the great travel tips.
Iβm a 5β9β woman that weighs about 185. I have found some clothes that fit in Japan when I thrift thanks to the generous sizing of some of their garments. I also had luck buying in the menβs area especially for jeans. I only thrift clothing.
Great tips! Saily is the best! Thanks for sharing your wisdom π¦
Excellent advice as always. I strongly agree with avoiding large suitcases. Many of the Tokyo train stations are gigantic and endlessly confusing mazes. And donβt forget super crowded and lacking elevators. Maneuvering with a big suitcase is a nightmare π©π±
great tips, thanks
I used to bring this Barbie sized flat iron from the States for my trips but last year I said screw this! And went to a Donki on my first night and finally bought a Japanese flat iron lol.
Hair update! Nice β€π
wow
You brought up charging electronics, the power bank restriction will be in effect soon. Max 2 under 160Wh each. Asian airports check.
What to do if you go on your feet all day and you have to take of your sneakers somewhere at the end of the day and your feet stinks? π
I'm going to Japan in November, will that code still be valid? If you don't know, I completely understand.
My wife and I brought large suitcases with us to Japan a few weeks ago and absolutely recommend Yamato Transport (γ―γγγ³) or any other Ta-Q-Bin services offered by your hotel.
We used two carry-on medium suitcases for important items and clothes we needed the first day or two, and had the large suitcases shipped from airport -> hotel -> next hotel -> airport while filling them with purchases along the way. If the hotel doesn't have it's own partner service, they'll likely offer a shipping form which you can take to a convenience store (on certain days) or to a Yamato office.
Also, all our hotels had a coin washer/dryer. If we had checked ahead of time, we would've packed half as much clothes as we did.
I was buying a purse at a designer store in Osaka and commented… OK, this would fit my wallet, keys, and I think sunglasses. The salesperson told me not many people wear sunglasses and I had noticed that. I chalked it up to the fact I have very light blue eyes which (scientifically) are more sensitive to light. I usually need a hat and sunglasses outside!
I agree with all of this, especially the maneuvering and packing super light when you go to Japan (nesting ftw!). I had one trip where, when I went to the airport to fly out of the country, a very nice Westerner helped me carry one of my two suitcases down the stairs to the subway. Japanese people don't do that. Especially when you have to change at stops where there is construction, you are going to have to drag your luggage up and down stairs. It's a workout, and it takes extra time (even without the construction tbh).
I was in Japan last summer and used a regular us umbrella and got a sunburn standing in the shade of it…
We used a backpack and a large (check) suitcase for 18 days. We also packed foldable duffle for shopping. It was the perfect amount of luggage.
By any chance do you know of anyone that has rented a car in Japan while on vacation? Traveling as a family with luggage on trains seems daunting π«
Excellent overview covering critical and important information to know when traveling to Japan.π
π€£ Forgive me if iβm mistaken, but is that one of those stick men plushies from aliexpress? (I have 1 from genshin ahahaha.)

We found the lockers at train stations a convenient way to store luggage when you are traveling to a new place and are too early for check-in.
How much yen would you recommend taking out for a 6 day trip to Tokyo? I'm going to both Tokyo and Korea this year, so I won't be staying in Japan for a full two weeks. I was thinking around 20,000 JPY.
