Working in Japan On a working Holiday Visa is easy
I’m Michelle. We’re in Maritaka Cafe in Koasa and I’m on a working holiday visa from the UK. Is it easy to to find a job? Uh, it depends what kind of job and depends if you can speak Japanese as well cuz obviously like the language barrier. There’s a lot of guest houses and things you can work at. If you even if you don’t know Japanese, if you don’t mind doing those like messy cleaning and reception and things, then it can be quite easy. If you want like a pay job and then you’re looking for accommodation, it can become a bit more tricky. How many jobs have you had in Japan? This will be my second paid job. How did you get this job? I actually found it on Facebook. Do you think that because you look Asian, it helps you? Obviously, a lot of people think I’m Japanese, so they like talk to me in their Japanese. So, I think it does help, but it can also be like a hindrance because sometimes, and I talk to Japanese, but I I kind of like freeze. I’m like trying to process what they’re saying and then they probably like realize I’m not Japanese.
