These are the three biggest mistakes people make when renting a kimono. If you don’t want to mess up like I did, listen carefully to all three. Number three, choosing a shop. People often underestimate how long it takes to get from place to place in a kimono. If you don’t want to be exhausted afterwards, pick a shop that’s 5 to 10 minutes from where you want to go. Number two, not bringing your own bag. Many shops will only give you a tiny bag for your phone and your wallet. So if you have more stuff to carry, I recommend bringing a nice tote bag. And number one, I would say it will be so many customers, they actually ask for a kimono in summer. We’re wearing the yucata, which you highly suggest, cuz for kimono, there will be more layers inside, so it will be pretty hot. Now you know.

    Thought I recognised the interior! I rented from Yae in Asakusa myself when I went in March. I was in a full furisode for my university graduation. The staff there are lovely!
