Hello! I am going to Yunogo Onsen (Okayama) today I am rushing to the train because I am late again… This train is called Super Inaba, and connects Kyoto to Tottori via Hyogo and Okayama Super fancy I am going to Okayama from Tottori.. The view is awesome

It snowed a lot during the night in Tottori riding the train with snow makes it much better! I arrived at Sayo station, where I need to change to a local train to Hayashino The train is slow but cute, a relaxing ride during sunset

Here we are at Hayashino station, I am the only one here lol I will now take a free shuttle to my Ryokan (Japanese style Hotel) This is Yunogo Onsen, and the Ryokan is called “Yunogo Bishunkaku” Fancy entrance! It’s a mix of modern and classical Japanese style

My room is in a separate building that connects the main entrance via a Japanese garden There are pink flower trees and even a pagoda let’s go see the room then! nice… Japanese-style room with tatami floor There is even a massage chair you are probably asking “Where is the bed”?

In Japanese Ryokans, the staff will come to the room and make the bed (actually a futon) whenever you want them to for now, the room is in “daily” mode let’s see what there is in my veranda a shower! This shower room connects the veranda to my room the reason will be clear soon

My fancy veranda and my private open-air bath!! The room is connected via the shower so you can wash yourself after the bath before going back to the room (and vice versa) The open-air bath is made of stone, but all around it is a wooden structure

You can regulate the water flow and also set a timer, so the bath will fill up and stop the water flow automatically there is also a wooden deck with views of the nature around

You can see the inside of the room from the open-air bath. There are also curtains you can use for privacy let’s see what else is in the room There is an anti-chamber here with the entrance and 2 more doors one is the toilet.. washlet in Japanese style

The other one is another bathroom with a shower… maybe use it when it is cold outside? not sure… I found this in the room… It is shredded Hinoki tree, you can put it in the open-air bath to make it smell like wood the hotel also provides you with a Japanese robe (Yukata)

You can choose your own Yukata and belt in the lobby. They have many colors and measures! In total, I paid only about 160 USD for this room with a full-course dinner and breakfast included! Incredible! there are some free snacks in the room. They usually accompany the green tea

I am not a big fan of these ones This one is a Manju. It is a rice cake with bean jam inside. I love it! perfect together with tea let’s walk around the hotel a bit There is a Japanese retro vibe here I like this kind of vibe

On the left, there is a Karaoke room, but it is busy now inside the hotel, there is a Japanese Izakaya (a mix of a restaurant and a pub) prices are cheap and they have a game corner inside perfect for a cold beer after a hot bath

This is the Yukata corner. you can choose your own Japanese robe here, the size and color of your choice 8 different choices! and you can also choose the belt! near the entrance, they also have a small souvenir shop the hall is very classy but still retains a Japanese feel

They even have a collection of Japanese dolls (Hina) I particularly like the garden. it’s quiet and relaxing other than the private bath in your room, there is also a hot spring common large bath it is already time for dinner.. let’s check the restaurant they are all private rooms!

Let’s see my private dining room wow! they brought already a lot of food. it is a fixed menu some sashimi, 4 different types a small hot pot with meat. This is called “Sukiyaki” various appetizers… One is a dango (Japanese cake skewer). There is also Tofu and beans. Not sure about the others :/

Local Okayama beer time for Kanpai! cheers The menu is all in Japanese. I see at least 9 different dishes here meat is starting to cook there is another hot pot, but they told me to not open it, so it is a mystery

Another dish came: fish and vegetables. I need to wait for them to cook I don’t know what this is… fish maybe? it tastes very good! the hot pot is ready! more food came, and again I am not sure what it is! smells very good!

And now it’s time to open the mystery hot pot! rice with vegetables! In the end, I also received a dessert it’s a very soft mousse, raspberry taste let’s conclude the dinner with some Japanese sake (Nihonshu) it’s boiling so I have to use a towel cheers!

I am delighted. The food was great and I ate everything! let’s go back to the room and enjoy my private bath it’s -2 degrees outside, I can’t wait to go inside my open-air bath so much smoke coming out of it! super relaxing! it is so cold outside, so it is even more enjoyable!

After my bath, the hotel staff prepared my futon, so it was now time to go to sleep! Good night! good morning! Awesome to wake up with this view… My bath is waiting there for me I can enjoy a nature view while taking a bath in my room

Even the bath has a very Japanese vibe I think ok let’s pour water into it so much smoke it will take some time to be ready meanwhile, I will sit outside and enjoy my green tea with a nature view perfect way to start the day

It’s so quiet. I can only hear the birds around still smoky even after I emptied it after bath, I will go have breakfast breakfast is buffet-style I got a big mix: fries with sausages, tofu, fish, onigiri, eggs and fruit.

And of course, I will enjoy my breakfast with a view of the nature around after breakfast, it is time for me to leave my room and get ready for the next adventure! I will take the train and go to southern Okayama next. stay tuned for the next adventure!
