These are my top food spots in Hokkaido all right we in Hokkaido I’m going to be showing you my top food spots in this area I am so excited I can’t wait for this to get started but before we do start if you guys want to help the channel then definitely check

Out my merch as well as my hot sauce if you guys have any questions about your travels in Japan then check out my Discord Community but that all say let’s get this food Adventure started hey yo we in Hokkaido it is vibrant Capital Saputo just a 40-minute train ride from

Shinos airport and although it’s been snowing heavily I’ve got my snow boots and jacket on ready to explore the city’s delectable treats from their freshest Fishbowl to them hearty winter Comfort noodles yep I’ve got them all served up in this one and first I’m taking you straight to the sapoto

Central wholesale Market just a 20-minute drive from sapoto station although this Northern Japan’s street food Paradise took a bit of a hit after the seaword that shall no longer be mentioned it still has them local seafood hitters so it looks like in this restaurant here you can just choose the

Crabs and eat it inside of the restaurant this place is awesome number one kaisendon from Kitano gur okay so I’m going to take you to one of the freshest kaisendon places in all of Hokkaido but we got to go through this Market first let me take you inside

You can see all this crab dri and fish oh they have these huge snow crab legs oh boy oh boy this spot is a seafood specialty shop where they offer freshly caught Seafood directly from various ports all throughout Hokkaido so you know you’re getting that fresh fresh

It’s even a popular spot for Japanese Travelers since they offer Seafood delivery services hidden behind this souvenir shop they serve the freshest Seafood bowls at this Spot it’s a giant space so it’s perfect when you’re traveling with a big group of people okay check this out look at this kaen rice bowl this is looking beautiful this kaisendon Sashimi Rice Bowl I ordered basically has everything you can think of it’s got uni sea urgent

Iikura salmon roll Abalone crab toy guy shellfish three giant pieces of salmon fatty tuna two Toto tuna white fish three slices of scallops squid octopus amabi shrimp and Bon shrimp everything I don’t even know where to start but this place is just so amazing there’s so much fresh seafood this is nothing but

Hokkaido love hope this is the soy sauce drip it in like that what I actually like to do is just mix it all up like this and I just like to drip it all over the kaisendon so I don’t have to mess with it later on like this

W yeah get it nice and coated with that luscious show you so the first thing we are going to have is look at this this fatty tuna big piece of tuna take a little bite holy mother of sushi that is so fresh that literally just melted in my

Mouth that is so buttery soft you can just taste all the oils coming from that that was amazing that is the way to start this try some of this choto as well here you know what’s also nice is that that show you has I wouldn’t say strong

Sweetness but it does have kind of a unique sweetness to it and then let’s have some of this iura maybe I can mix the uni and the iura all at the same time if you guys don’t know iura is salmon row and then the uni is sea urgent that’s all in one bite This is pure joy it’s so fresh here let’s take another Bite oh we got these three pieces of salmon just sitting all by themselves let’s grab some of that let’s kind of make a little sushi roll like this let’s get this sushi roll going right Here oh that is so fresh Tam is so creamy look look at that guy he’s like eat me I just ripped off his head one thing about this place and I’ve been to a lot of kaand places is that sometimes you order it they’ll get like very thinly sliced pieces these pieces

Are thick look at this man that’s like a girthy piece of salmon and it’s such a great value it’s 3,000 yen so I think that’s probably around 23 $24 maybe even less I also love the squid which was glorious it had that perfect melty texture combined with a fresh

Complimentary sweetness and the Abalone had an Exquisite mixture of soft and crunchy textures even the rice is good here I Am So Satisfied with this Meal oh look at this a little hidden alley let’s go inside number two Ramen from tokichi put your fork down for this one as this unassuming Ramen Shop is tucked away in this tiny hidden Alleyway opened just a year ago it’s no joke and definitely a must a must as it’s quickly

Gaining popularity among the locals consistently drawing lines for its hearty bowls of pure love so this spot is hokkaido’s a Chicken Soup for the Soul and I’m telling you you can’t go wrong here let me show you supervised by a Michelin French restaurant chef and run by a former Italian cuisine Chef

This their Ramen is unlike any I’ve ever had before I got their chicken Pyon Ramen which is a creamy milky white broth chicken soup topped with rosemary flavored foam Woodfire oil chopped scallions two giant baked shirako cod mil and roasted Lily Roots didn’t I say it’s one of a kind it smells so

Delicious you see the foamy loveliness right on top have a little bit of these bubbles has like a hint of Rosemary Rosemary bubbles it’s more satisfying than taking a bubble bath oh oh that is a rich rich thick soup there is just so much flavor in here

Smild sweetness to it but you can definitely taste like the chicken broth it’s so thick it’s almost like eating gravy we have some of this chuckle looks like it’s been grilled on the outside or just flame broiled M has that like crispy crunchiness outside and then that creamy creamy

Center filling this will have me coming back for more I’ve never actually had Shido as a topping and they cooked it perfectly let’s try the noodles these are kind of thicker side thick round Noodles oh my goodness that’s amazing all of the thick Pyon soup just clings to the noodles like it doesn’t want to fall off the noodle building and just like I’m going to stick with you no matter what I’m going to be here for the

Rest of my life then you take a bite and it just goes down so smoothly the noodles are cooked perfectly freaking delicious this is what it’s all about man I love Hokkaido what I love about this too is like so thick but it’s not even oily has a slight sweetness it’s

Kind of like rich but has that Elegance to it they also have some green onions here to give it kind of that refreshingness perfect combination so one thing that they also do we can do is you can actually get a side of rice and you can add this to your soup this

Way of eating is called shime in Japanese kind of like porridge at the end ensuring that not a drop is wasted of this screamy good good hey so before we continue on I want to give a quick shout out to the sponsor of this video Squarespace if you all don’t already

Crab just look how crispy this looks wow it’s just coming off of my fingers a not a lot of oil wo M that is so crispy the first thing you taste is that creaminess you get that that textured crunchiness like no other you can hear this crispiness it even sounds like someone

Shoveling snow but I just love this like honko that they use that just makes it so crunchy like for me I love having two different textures and she even uses Hokkaido milk she does it all by hand that’s why it’s so so creamy look at the inside of that this is worth traveling

All the way to Hokkaido To number four all you can eat crab at e gasen so at this spot we’re getting our all you can eat crab on did someone say all you can eat let’s hokido you know you’ve got to throw down on some crab if you’re in this area and

No better than this place as it’s only a 3-minute walk from the susukino subway station wow the all you can eat crab course I ordered came with the snow crab Zu hairy crab kegani and of course of course the king crab taraba along with three appetizers three pieces of sushi

Assorted tempura and egg pudding which of course are all you can eat as well this is amazing we have all of this crab wow look at all this crab we’re having I haven’t even try the crab yet but we are going to have a fun time tonight this is

Literally bigger than my head and it’s dripping all over my friend Riot’s let going take some of these the king crabs look at all of this succulent meat at this light it is amazing wo dip it on the sauce look at it just soak up all of that

Energy wow that is so fresh all of the juices from the crab leg sauce itself has a delicious sweetness to it oh this is beautiful wow and look at this claw this is the big ass claw but it’s a four finger claw maybe three finger okay I

Got it open it’s a lot of work but did it that wow look at all of this crabing I’m pulling out this all in my hand what’s nice about this crab too you don’t even need to put like any sauce on it it has like a natural sweetness to it

Without it it’s amazing just unto itself so right now what I’m going to do is I’m just going to work on opening up my crab then we’re going to have like a huge plate of crap just give me one second so here’s what I’ve done this is probably

Not the most inven way to do it but I’ve got a whole lot crab meat right here and then what I do is I take some of their special sauce and I just kind of throw it all on here boom boom boom and then we just have our way with the meat you

Know have you ever had your away with a meat my friend Ryan likes to have a we with a meat here we go oh this is so fresh the meat is so tender it’s so good this is some of the best crab I’ve ever had and the fact is

It’s all you can eat you have this full leg right Here M this is literally undeniable if you come to Hokkaido you’ve got to try this all you can eat crab I’m so happy we’re doing this and number five spicy Misa Ramen from tesi oawa so this spot is hidden away behind me in this little Japanese drinking alley and they have

This awesome garlic Ramen that’s local here to Hokkaido let me show you so I’ve made my way to this 150-year-old sapoto shopping street Tanuki Koji which has a strong local Vibe and this Ramen Shop I’m taking you now is inside of this tiny food Hall buried a couple of doors from the

Street produced by Two Brothers one is sushi chef and and the other Chinese cuisine Chef who brilliantly decided to offer with their mouth watering Ramen a bowl of seafood which is quite rare in Japan and today I’m going all in on their local hormone intestine Ramen which is a delicacy in Northern Hokkaido W so look at this Ramen you got the K miso so it’s the spicy version it has bamboo shoots mizuna a slice of chashu tons of homone intestine meat and their local Goa

Garlic oh that is thick it has like a really deep Umami and kind of like a nice sweetness to it the soup itself is made with a chicken bone pork bone and vegetable it’s full of umami it has that spicy Ki to it but for me it’s not so

Spicy because you know I’ve got my hot sauce and that’s super spicy maybe we’ll give you a little bit of sweat that’s good though look at those new noodles is kind of like a stringy let just taste some of these noodles I like how the noodles itself

They’re kind of on the harder side which I prefer I don’t really like soft soggy noodles kind of like crimped W look at this big piece this is amazing the intestines just adds like a beautiful texture to it look at these little pieces right here you usually don’t find this in ramen but

You can get it which is pretty cool it’s like pretty unique and then just right here this is the guoa Garlic it’s like a local delicacy here and it’s pickled in soy sauce it’s kind of like a a green onion with a stronga the garlic kind of

Gives it like this unique freshness look at this thick piece of josu oh that chashu was just fabulous they used mikoma haa marinated for a long time and it’s grilled oh and I should say that I got the Sashimi you can also get Oto which is kind like a

Ram min’s beef and then they also have real pork you can try all the different kinds but I got the Sashimi today oh look can see all steam coming from there I’ve sweat it out so much and what’s awesome is that it doesn’t even break the bank it’s so inexpensive all

Right so those are my food spots in Al kaido I hope you guys like this video if you did help me out and hit that like button if you guys want to help the channel then definitely check out my merch and my hot sauce and if you guys

Want to see more videos like this or anything related to Japan hit that subscribe button button I’ll catch you guys in the next one

  1. John Stewart, Paulo and I, all have some kind of bizarre laryngitis. At least in the videos I watched today. YT is searching through my brain to bring me relatable programming I guess.

  2. I'm regretting not going to the Sapporo Snow Festival this year. We love taking JR to Otaru, and feasting on Hanasaki crab at the fish market adjacent to the rail station. Thanks for the video Paolo.

  3. Kaisen don looks so good! I love sashimi, and getting to eat fresh local fish sounds amazing! I used to not like sashimi as a kid, but I got into eating it more a couple years ago. Hearing the crispiness of the crab cream korokke makes me so hungry and want to take a bite of it. My mom's high school friend's daughter invited me to come to Japan with her and her dad, but I had to refuse due to the trip being at a busy and important time at work. But the next time she invites me on a trip to Japan, I'll have to request going to Hokkaido.

  4. Paolo, we have an industrial convention at Tokyo Big Sight on 28 February- 1 March. Entry fee is free, would you like to make a video of what is like to be in a Japanese trade show?

  5. SOLD ME, PAOLO! MY FRIENDS AND I ARE HEADING FOR HOKKAIDO AND "ALL YOU CAN EAT CRAB." 😍😍😍😍😍🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀😋😋😋😋😋

  6. Unfortunately that not pozole or menudo, or caldo de res. Japan needs real Mexican food. I was just there two weeks ago and it’s cool but the food can be better. The food needs some spice. Tokyo is super cool.
