Today we’ll be taking a ride on one  of Japan’s quirky limited Express   trains across the beautiful island  of kushu so let’s go and check it out Together kicha and welcome back to Japan the beautiful  coastal city of fukoka is the starting point   for today’s trip it is the country’s sixth  largest with a population of 2.5 million   people and also the largest on kushu island  it’s also a very important sea port dealing

With approximately 30% of Japan’s Maritime  imports and exports let’s head to the Hakata   District in the east of the city city where the  main station and Airport are [Music] located   Hakata station was rebuilt in 2011 and is  the busiest station on kushu island and the

Gateway for travelers arriving by shinkansen  from Tokyo and Osaka on Japan’s main Island honu from here you can connect  to many of the Island’s local   limited Express and baby shinkansen services as with most Japanese main stations it’s  absolutely crazy in here at any time of the

Day there is a wide variety of  shops and food Outlets along   with a staff ticket office and automatic ticket machines I’m traveling on a Jr pass  today so I was able to book my free   seat reservation for this service online  in advance collect it from any Jr ticket

Machine and pass through the gate line  using my Jr pass main ticket as seen here our train today is the euin no  Mori limited express service from   Hakata to eupen departing at 1438 from platform 6 it’s already and waiting for us so let’s head up

Now my first impressions are that it’s a very  unique and beautiful train in its striking green Livery let’s now check out  today’s route before we get on board While the bottom step is level with the platform  unfortunately there are then three steps up to the   raised floor inside the coach wheelchair lifts or  ramps are available though if you speak to station staff and wow just look at this  interior I love the wood paneling

Green seat covers and 2 plus2 configuration  which all rotate to face the direction of travel smaller bags and coats can be stored in  these Airline style closable overhead lockers   while larger luggage can be left in the stacks  located at the carriage ends or in the [Music]

Vestibules we depart exactly on time at 2:38  p.m. this trip from Hakata to euin is 106 km   in distance and is scheduled to take 2 hours and  12 minutes of travel time yes it’s not fast but

Wait until you see the scenery as I mentioned I  was traveling on a Jr pass on this trip which is   a great value way to explore Japan by train  but more about that a bit later on however

The cash price for a seat on this service is  5,800 0 Japanese Yen which I think is Great Value if you want add free Early Access  to every video great perks and to help   me do bigger and better reviews then  become a channel member from just £199

Per month just click the link above now  or the join button in every video thank   you all onboard announcements are made in  Japanese with the important ones repeated   in English too this is great especially  as I was the only Foreigner on this

Train let’s check out the seats they are very  comfy have a good ergonomic shape and padded headrests they also recline a small  amount using this button on the wooden armrest leg room is good and there  is a flimsy tray table on the back

Of the seat in front of you along with the storage a second smaller but sturdier tray table with a  drinks holder can be deployed from the central armrest coat hooks can be found on the wall along  with personal reading lights and an excellent

Sunblind overall a very stylish comfy and  high class product even if there are no power sockets the onboard host wanders around  the train greeting passengers and giving   information about the route  although this was only done in Japanese

Let’s now go for a wander around the rest  of the train to check out some of its unique features isn’t all the wood paneling just  so stylish and this raised bridge between   the gangways is super cool even if it’s not that

Practical moving through to the front  coach and we can Glimpse this Train’s   pesto this the seats behind the driver’s cab  are sold at a premium but were all sold out   for everyday I looked at which shows how much  in demand this amazing view is anytime you

Get to look out the front of a modern train  these days is very special shout out to the   people who were seated here and put up with  me filming and encroaching on their view they   were very friendly too okay let’s leave them  alone and go and check out the toilets now

They are gendered and can be found in the central vestibules as with all Japanese  trains I went on they were very   clean all working and fully stocked up quite  surprisingly these ones didn’t have the bday function also located towards the center of  the train is a small food counter and Shop

It sells a selection of snacks  and drinks along with euin no Mori souvenirs I went for a cider and an ice cream  which cost 710 Japanese Yen and they were both delicious the attendant also went around with a  photo board with the current date on

It and then would take a photo  of you holding it a very nice touch now in the second half of the journey the  scenery really starts to pick up as we cross   stunning rivers and view the Majestic mountains  of the OA prefecture and the kuchi noara national

Park this really is one of Japan’s  best areas of outstanding natural beauty along with these reservation only limited  Express Services there are also a number   of daily Services operated by  normal trains which run on this line tickets for these regular  Services cost 4,660 Japanese

Yen or you can just turn up and ride no  reservation necessary with your Jr pass you’ll see one of these trains  as we arrive at amagase which   is a passing place for these  services on the single track

Line speaking of which I was traveling  on a Jr pass this week which is a rail   card which gives you unlimited travel  across the whole of the Jr Network on   all four of Japan’s main islands for either  7 14 or 21 days in either first or second

Classes although the prices have  recently been increased I still   think they are good value with  a 7-Day second class one costing   just 50,000 Japanese Yen for an  adult children under 12 are half price there are so many of these unique  and fascinating tourist oriented trains

In Japan that I could have filled a whole month  traveling around the whole of the country riding them here we pass a westbound Ean  no Mori service heading to Hakata and behind it is the super  luxury Seven Stars tourist train   which does 4-day tours around kosu  these cost 800,000 Japanese Yen per

Person fun fact this is one of the  last remaining locoa trains in Japan and after that we see a beautiful old  steam Loco and roundhouse alongside the tracks we are now on the last stretch  of today’s trip so let me summarize my

Experience on the eupen noi limited  express service from Hakata to euin I had an absolutely amazing time it  might not have been fast but it was   super comfortable had amazing  amenities and friendly staff   along with some stunning views out of  the windows what more could you ask

For I’d highly recommend this journey  especially on this beautiful and unique train we arrive exactly on time at 4:50 p.m.  giving me the rest of the day to check   into my rokan enjoy an onen and explore  this stunning mountainous Hot Spring

[Music] Town have you been on any of Japan’s  quirky limited Express trains before which   route did you do and how did you find  it let me know in the comments below [Music] by the way I’m always open  to new video ideas so send me a

  1. Ah the 7-stars. That thing is pure luxury. On a side note there is no First class in JR just Green class. Just if anyone wonders when they get to the train and see no sings of the first class…
