1. QR code for Quarantine is not issued anymore. Still issued for Immigration and Customs. For quarantine part of QR code, some travelers get only blue screen without QR code, some get QR code, and both are good to go through. You just show the screen to get the pink slip and they don't scan the 1st QR code for quarantine part. (Thank you Ojisan and Khaisan for information) Jan.12
2. Register period is 2 weeks to 6 hours before your arrival.
The "Visit Japan" web is recommended to register within 2 weeks prior to the arrival time. It can be done by 6 hours before the arrival time.

However, there are some passangers who were denied to board the plane without the registration to "Visit Japan" web, so you might want to have it done by a few days before to be safe.
