This is completely true, despite japanese people say that want foreigners back, thats just tatemae, japan loves to be closed and is not foreigner friendly
new variants will keep appearing throughout the years so Japan might not be a travel destination for the next 2-4yrs. I only say this because any type of covid news scares Japan, they are not confident that they are a country that can do business with foreigners during the pandemic. several business's in Japan that need foreigners will go out of business and Japan is completely ok with that.
When is Japan start booster does and allow for international travellers to take booster does to come Japan
このままでは、日本は修復不可能なほど自壊してしまう。とても悲しいことです。
Thank you for the organized information and insights that its driven by politics than science.
I'm pushing for the students now. I don't mind to push myself anymore. I'll just let fate decide if I will be reunited with the Japanese community that I built in the past 7 years. I really believe that education is not tourism and we need them in order to continue what we have already established. The online class experience for foreigners enrolled in Japan will definitely not supplement the true essence of being a foreign student in Japan. They are really missing a lot for a huge amount of tuition fee. Expect some demonstration there in Japan in the past few weeks if permitted.
I like your honest opinion. Information is very well presented. Well done 👏
This is crazy and incredibly frustrating. I was supposed to go to Japan in fall 2020 as a student. I took a gap year hoping they would open by fall 2021. Fall 2021 came around and no sign of opening. Finally they start accepting visas again just a few weeks ago, and then suddenly the new strand comes around and it's all just gone again. I get being careful, but there's a point where it's just unreasonable. I'm vaccinated and perfectly willing to quarentine for however long they want me to. I feel like most students are perfectly ready to do everything in their power to make it basically no risk for Japan, but it seems like they're not even trying to let people come.
I’ve been watching you for almost half a year now, your English is getting so good man! Thanks for the video it’s very helpful
thanks for the video.. do you know if the borders had been opened for some period, for new workers, before this last announcement? thank you!
Really good video! Keep posting videos like this please!
Japan Localized has been the most realistic channel on youtube for Japan travel updates. Too many other channels are giving people false hope. Japan Localized understands the Japanese government. He can "read the air" to interpret the true intentions of these politicians.
The problem if that I don't feel safe in Japan, I am not sure that if I get sick I will get the necesary attention…. So I am happy with prevention till they don't force doctors and private hospitals to treat
I don’t think Japan is going to open anytime soon since the variant is spreading I think only emergency travel will be allowed in January only child of Japan national for emergency I don’t think foreigners will be allowed yet since Japanese are afraid of the omicron variant
Well according to Kyodonews, if you own a super yacht or a private jet you can enter Japan now
My wife is from Hiroshima needless to say she and her family are supporters of Kishida but in honesty Japan needs a new direction a new way of thinking they need Tara Kono to take office as PM, I’m not sure when it will happen because they’re still stuck in neo Japan way of thinking.Kono probably the only politician that can currently win Prime Minister but he’s what’s needed to usher Japan into a new inclusive country because at the moment Japan even with everything going on they’re dying country and they’ve yet to solve the problems that hinder the country
Thanks for the updates
Japan has a population that is somewhere around 97-98% Japanese. Answers a lot of questions about politics and surveys. I just want to get back to Japan to ski and hike. Nature is wonderful in Japan and people have always been friendly and helpful. This may just be on the surface though. The “island nation” may be closer to the truth, but I think that is not sustainable. Thank you so much for your continued coverage on this topic; very well done.
Thanks for the recent information update on Japan. If things aren’t shaping up by 1.5 months in 2022, I’m afraid that it will be pushed towards 2023. Everything about going to travel international is bleak right now. I really hate politics!!!
I resigned company because, Japanese company offer me job. But now I think I have to join other job in my own country only. Japan should understand that they want foreigners for growing their economy. Otherwise give clear idea that they don't want any foreigner then we can find some other way.
I understand it is frustrating that the Japan borders are closed to foreigners. But the more I think about it, the more I understand WHY Japan (mostly the native Japanese) don't want foreigners.
I keep hearing "follow the science" to reduce the covid cases. Japan has done a mostly good job of doing that. They have nearly an 80% vaccine rate AND they usually wear masks and social distance (compared to the US/Europe). They did all of that with being less "anti-vax" and "anti-mandate" (compared to US/Europe). They also reached the 80% number WITHOUT as many mandates, "special prizes" (such as get vaxxed and get free food, chance of $1,000,000, etc), or work restrictions (compared to US/Europe).
But the western world (US and Europe), nearly HALF IGNORE and/or DON'T CARE about the science. We have these low vax numbers, our mask mandates are a JOKE, and our case load is SPIKING. If it weren't for (pseudo) vaccine mandates and vaccine incentives, I bet the US and Europe would BARELY crack the 50% vaccine rate. In my area, its almost at the point to where you can NOT get seriously injured, because if you do, good luck finding a spot in the hospital. Hospitals in the US are beginning to overflow with patients (mainly Delta patients).
Lets say the 'western world' gets their vaccines and mask wearing in check. Have you seen the people in the US. We were crazy BEFORE the pandemic. But this pandemic has made us (the US) WORSE. We have people freaking out on planes, we have people freaking out at SCHOOL BOARD meetings, and we have people freaking out even more at the shopping malls.
I think that the reason they allow their citizens to travel to other countries, but NOT allow others is mainly because they trust that the Japanese people will obey the restrictions and NOT try to get around it.
Japan is a VERY RULES BASED, VERY CONFORMATIVE country. The more I think about it, the more I understand WHY Japan (the Japanese people) don't want the "But my freedumbs, bruh" people. Think of it as a group project. Japan DID THE WORK of vaccines, they DID THE WORK of mask orders, and THEY HAVE MAINTAINED a low case/hospital load, even in the WINTER SPIKE. The other group members, the US and Europe, did the MINIMUM. I can see why Japan doesn't want the outside foreign people to mess up their work. As an American, I am EMBARRASSED to how the country (mainly the people) are handling covid. If I were a Japanese person, I would assume that a foreign person would have a 50% rate of "following the science."
Why do you think do 89% of Japanese approve banning foreigners although enough people are vaccinated to fully open the border and protect Japanese at the same time?
Does Japan even have the goal to learn to live with Covid someday?
This is very honest and accurate I really respect you for this. Even hete in New Zealand its not so different. I think your assesment is very accurate. Omicron will most likely burn it self out quickly but fear will take longer to subside.
Will they at least open when the world officially declares the pandemic as over?
Why japan still issuing Coe for international students if they don't have any plan for student, They have to stop issuing Coe which gives false hope and 2 years of gap is not a joke. Australia has opened border and since the day student can enter and Japan neither they have plan nor what they only keep proceeding in the name of screening certificate .. Blaa.. Blaa.. Blaa Online classes is nothing cause students have already payed high amount tution fees if they have plan to held online classes onward Japanese school must refund half of the amount I think then after only Japanese government wakeup from dream🤔 what they think I don't know but it's so frustrating athelets can enter, re entry can enter but international students can't I think Japanese government is sure students can bring various variant in japan🤣
Constant closing/opening is ridiculous already. Japan and other countries need to find a better solution. Economic collapse is worse than a virus with a high survival rate.
Final update. ANA just canceled my March 24th flight to Japan, stating that my route (Munich-Tokyo) had been suspended for the forseeable future. I do not know what is happening to other routes, or airlines but Sakura Season 2022, at least for me, ist kapput. As old Blackadder once said, just before getting shot: "Good luck, everybody." Cheers.
Thanks for being direct and up to date… Getting direct answers in Japan is difficult.
I thank you so very much for bringing us the news and facts that you do. I know that it can be very frusterating and discouraging to have to bring us unpleasant news. I appreciate all of your hard work. I look forward to your videos. ありがとうございます。おつかれさまでした。
