Japan “opened” to tourism in June 10th but it’s not been successful — or has it? With China not able to travel to Japan, where is tourism coming from? Westerners are shunning the tour packages but tours are increasingly being seen around the city. When will Japan open? How do you plan for a trip with such uncertainty? ▶︎ New ONLY in JAPAN channel with edited stories: http://youtube.com/johndaub

  1. ooh goodness.. i hope Japan will announce to reopen to individual tourist by September. Oct is really stretching it for those like me who have planned to go in November. Might have to postpone the entire trip to next november instead.

  2. It's so simple. Masking lowers the overall airborne viral load which not only reduces the chances of infection but also reduces the severity of infection. We're having a new wave because BA.5 is MUCH more contagious and has a higher immunity escape than previous variants. Everywhere I go, inside and out, people are masked up. That does not mean masks don't work! If they weren't masked the numbers would be much higher. If everyone wore M95/KN95/KF95 masks it would be even less. It's science.

  3. Nobel Prize winner, Dr. Kary Mullis, who invented the PCR, which has been fraudulently hijacked to diagnose convid, stated point blank that his PCR, "doesn't tell you that you're sick, or anything like that." Could a convid "expert" here tell us the optimal cycle threshold for The PCR, "test", for maximum accuracy?

  4. I love Japan, spent a year and a half there and want to return for more, but boy oh boy those people are stubborn on senseless things. Racist too.
Some of the foreigners I met in Japan are better people than most / all Japanese people I met.

  5. What is a bit weird, japanese people can travel anywhere they want and come back even tho their numbers are skyrocketing but us bad foreigners are a a risk bc we might be bringing covid in.

  6. remembered another canned drink that went down the drain. yes, follow the local country rulings. John you are melting even under the shade. Joshua Skidmore, I agree. thx John.

  7. I am with John regarding masks, but there are so many people and culture clash and mask is like becoming annoyance, and I see people sneezing and coughing without masks here in the west… it's weird anyhow, we think people becoming more hygienic but then people are people.

  8. Any country that treats you like a walking biohazard is not worth visiting. If Japan wants to permanently damage their economy with these ridiculous covid policies, then that is their choice.

John still thinks masks do anything to protect you, lol. You still seem scared of getting a mild flu and sneakily blaming non-mask wearers as the cause of the spread.

    Disappointed, but not surprised.

  10. I hate to say "told you so" but that's exactly what I should. Guided tours was a terrible idea to start with, it's expensive and very limiting — why anyone would go "I need to go to Japan at any cost" is completely beyond me. Whenever Japan is ready to have me, I'll be on my way.
