golden banana pass!
that's a bargain
Thank you for the info!
the more I hear about airBnB, the more it seems to be a bad deal for the communities they intend to operate in: dodging hospitality taxes, driving up the cost of (and consuming) property in demand by local residents etc. – be a good neighbor, stay at a licensed hotel
Finally we got the golden banana of train tickets, now when's the golden Tokyo banana 😋
Thank you for the updates Nathan!
Yeah that ticket will be handy as this summer's trip will mainly be in Tohoku. Glad the Edo Museum is finally open as I've stayed next to it at the tall APA a few times and it was always under renovation. I'll finally get to go!
Well, there are three of these that may interest me. I'm not a huge Hanami fan so not on my list. Although, I like photos, as the son of a professional Photographer/Cinematographer, I don't take many. Most of the Time Air B&B are not economical choices for me. So I rarely use them. That said the other items you mentioned I will give a look see, in the fall. Unless, prices change on flights and accommodations, I think my spring trip will die. Changes in expenses here at home are proving hazardous to my wallet. So the best laid plans will be on hold, unless something changes. Could happen, as unexpected expenses happened, but not looking good, at the moment. Thanks for the Japan news updates. Ninja Monkey is my trusted source for Japan news and updates.
ww! … you wear a hachimaki and it is always silly (^_^) … I wish to stay away but my family told me to come back this year.
Thanks a lot as always for provide us all this important information and tips. Gracias amigo
Another well informed source of travel tips. Love your enthusiasm and energy for this update. I love the idea of JR area passes that are worth the money. I always invest in a JR West pass of some sort depending where I want to go as they are still value. I think I might need to visit the Edo-Tokyo museum. I think that I have nailed my trip for the perfect viewing of the Sakura blooming 🌸♥️
If they don’t want people to use Airbnb, they need to make it easier for long term stay. If I’m gonna come to Japan for two or three months, I’m not gonna stay in a hotel that long and I’m not trying to speed run the country I want to stay in the same area and I work remotely so I don’t wanna move around a bunch. I understand for people that are constantly checking in and checking out. It might be very disruptive but if you’re staying for at least 30 days, I think Airbnb‘s are completely fine..
Also, why is the government pushing tourism, when the locals don’t want it?
Seems like they complain when Taurus don’t show up and cancel their plans. They want more people to come, but then they also complain when we show up. You can’t have it both ways I mean, of course we’re all gonna come into the country and be respectful. I actually grew up in Japan. I know the customs in the rules. It’s just you get a lot of mixed messages lately from the country either you want tourist or you don’t especially with them canceling festivals because of tourist..
Cheers for this, probs will do both of the places you recommended, fingers are still crossed my flight doesnt get cancelled from the Beijing stop over.
Thank you fpr all those mofos to ruin this for all of us 😢
Still, will go next year with my mom 😊
Current JR East Tohoku pass is 30,000 Yen for 5 days. So an improved pass but as always more expensive.
