12.5 Hours in a Japanese-Style Private Cabin: Fukuoka to Osaka Overnight Ferry Trip

I’m taking the Meimon Taiyo Ferry from Fukuoka to Osaka. I booked a Japanese-style cabin with tatami mats this time.

  1. Ok …you win…not only do I automatically sing Sunflower when I see their ships but I caught myself calling my broccoli…BRO!
    AHHHHHHHHHHH. Love your style kid.

  2. I was shocked at how dirty some of it was. The carpets could use a good cleaning and they should replace stained and worn items.

  3. It’s hard to believe a one way first class ticket with a private spacious Japanese cabin is only $122; even with a sumptuous homestyle all you can eat buffet it’s only $13.

  4. I would have used at least two of those mats and hoped the heck I could get up!! Eating Ice cream with chopsticks, really STJ!! At least you got some sleep, so on to the next adventure….

  5. 11:25 You always eat soooooo much vegetables 🙂. And its always just a single piece of "bro". Are the ferry companies all part of the broccoli mafia ?

  6. Strange, but the food looks better on your plate than on the serving dish. Ice cream first 👍

  7. I’ve noticed all the ferries ⛴️ are very clean! I like that. Great video STJ 👍🏻 the food looked good! 😊

  8. I have great faith in you, STJ, to have a second helping in an "all you can eat" line. BTW, you wear beautiful socks.

I would have placed one mattress atop the first, for greater comfort.

  9. Is tatami a type of flooring like linoleum or hardwood, or is it what goes over your floor like a rug? If it's flooring, how is it cleaned? Sweep, mop, vacuum? Or if it's like a rug, do you just take it out and beat it like a rug?

  10. I find it very odd that there is never anyone around when you do your tours, one would think your ferries are not well used.

  11. I don't think I've seen so much green on one of your plates in ages……You'll make up for it, I'm sure.

  12. It's really neat seeing traditional style furnishings and accommodations on board a modern ship. It's a refreshing break from our modern plastic world

  13. Very interesting accommodation’s! I couldn’t sleep on the floor like that because my old body would never get up again! But it looked lovely and “traditional”. I hope you enjoyed it 😊 Thank you for taking me along! Until next time, be safe!

  14. A quattro of bro (with a bit of okra). I'm so happy you continue to eat healthily.

  15. Funny enough, I am watching this video while I'm on a cruise ship 🚢 😆. I always enjoy your work, STJ 👌👍
