Thinking about a Japan trip but not sure when to go? Here’s a quick breakdown of the best and worst months to visit Japan. If you love the cold, go in December, January, or February. Fewer crowds, cheaper stays, and perfect snow up north. Even Mount Fuji has better visibility. Early March is underrated with mild weather and early cherry blossom before the peak season. Late March to early April is the cherry blossom season when it feels like the whole world’s out viewing blooms. Beautiful but packed and pricey. May it’s my favorite. Warmer and fewer crows, but just avoid golden week. June to September probably the worst time. Raining season, humidity, and typhoons. But if you don’t mind the heat, summer festivals and fireworks are fun. October is another favorite with gray weather and reasonable prices. November through early December bring gorgeous fall colors and crisp air, but again, crowds and higher costs. So when’s your next Japan
