Underrated Food in Japan

Welcome to day three of my viral restaurants in Japan that aren’t viral yet series. I’m taking you to underrated spots that Japanese locals love so you can enjoy it before it ends up all over Tik Tok. First is Kagawa Ibuku Art, creative udon specialty shop in Chibuya that reimagines traditional Koshi style udon. This Michelin Gourmet awarded shop features a menu that changes depending on whether it’s an even or odd calendar day. I showed up on the 14th and tried their thick udon squid and curry which was so comforting. It was worth risking taining my clothes for. Second is Asakusa Silk Pudding. This homemade pudding shop is tucked quietly away just a couple minutes walking distance from the hectic and crowded Nakamisadori. Using fresh cream from Okaido, Okukuchi Eggs and their special temperature control crafting method, Asakusa Silk Pudding makes the smoothest and creamiest puddings in all of Tokyo. Third is Tatsurro Sushi. Imagine being served incredible omocas style sushi by your favorite family member. That’s tatsuro sushi. The ambience is relaxed and inviting and the chef owner presents every piece of sushi with thoughtful care. The nigto monkeyaki was the highlight of my night. A lovely Tokyo girl. She swears by this place and I promise you it is so
