Hey guys, we are in Seu the supermarket in Tokyo. Um, it’s near Sanji Sanji in Asaka. Yeah, you’re right. You’re alcohol. Alcohol. Let’s see how much things cost. I was looking at this and these are strong 9% drinks and they’re 139, which is one US one US for A big one. Yeah. And you can drink also in public. Like no one really cares. So, okay. How about regular stuff? Look, you can get all types of beers here. 200 less than two bucks. There’s your typical asah for $2.49. $2. Less than $2. You have lots of alcohol here. Santo whiskey for about $11 US. Kari, shou, we got chuhai, everything. Um, palm wine only 13. Okay, now we’re in the junk food area and we got these chips. Um, usually it’s cheaper at uh drugstores, but they’re about 100 yen, less than a dollar. You know, Japanese are famous for all their yummy foods, all their junk food. All these bourbon things, they could be about 100 yen. It’s 149. They’re really good. And the mama country mama cookies, $2.89. So, this is a supermarket general. My favorite biscuit 129. Oh, we got some bomb cake. Those are good. Matcha marshmallows. Sakia 400. That’s dried squid. Very yummy. We got some rice crackers here for 100 yen. Oh, you got your stuff that goes with beer, peanuts, and rice crackers. 200 yen. Here, let’s look at some okonamiyaki sauce. 300. I’ve seen it cheaper, but that’s better than it’s like $3 less than that. Probably cost you five, six, seven, $8 in the US or Canada. That’s for a koniyaki. Um, here’s some soba noodles for 300. You got your instant EUO noodles, UFO cup noodles, about 100 yen. Um, here you got SMB curry. SMB is better than Gooico. about 200. It’s pretty cheap. These are brick curries. SMB is the best. This one, that’s cheap. It’s actually gone down in price. $259. It’s like under $2. And you can make curry like maybe 10 times. They’re just little cubes. Add water and add meat. Here we got some soy sauce. Wow. 200. $2. Kiko man Yamasa. Two bucks. It’s like a dollar something. It’s like $8 in Canada. Here’s like under two bucks. Here you got mirin to make sushi. Um, and you got apple of the vinegar and lots of stuff. There’s so many things. Oh, are we love the GMA, this sesame, and seaweed. So many seaweeds. 100 yen, 300 yen for these packs. It’s not like the Korean stuff that you buy. This is fur kakeake, which is just sprinkles you put on rice. These are not the ones made in China. They’re about $2, less than two bucks. There’s so many different varieties. Um, you got hung dashi, which is fish soup. Bonito powder, the staple. You put it in miso soup. Wow, look at that. Whole box is 200. Oh, sesame oil is pretty expensive. 800. Oh, QP mayonnaise 300 200 for one kilo. That’s pretty good. That would cost you 5678 in Canada or US. Self express checkout. They have a deal on chips. 95 yen. It’s like.70 for a bag of Calby. Got these precious peaches. 600 yen. They’re so nice. Bananas. 140 149 for a kilo. Not bad. Tomatoes. $450 a bag. Curi. They’re probably from Japan. Oh, wow. Look at all these pickled vegetables. Very cheap. 200 yen for these pickled vegetables. Everything’s very cheap. Oh, nice meat. 1,000 yen. Very marbleized. Look at that. Pork is at 149 for 100 g. So, pretty reasonable. Chicken. I don’t know if these are from China or America or Australia. A lot of times they used to be. Got some yogurt. $149 buck for a tab of yogurt. Got all sorts of milk. A little pricey. Two bucks for a little carton. One liter. Here we got some food at the supermarket. 56.9 yen. Good. Oh, sashimi. Holy cow. $6.99. Looks really nice. [Music] Favorite. These are good. The deep fried uh little fishies. Wa. Oniri’s 149. Do you see the sushimi? Oh my god. It’s 600 on the thing. It was so nice. Did you see the sushi bowls? for 500 yen. And it has the fat fish eggs in it, too. I’m so happy. I stopped my video by mistake. Damn, it looks so good. It’s only 100. Here we got lots of cheeses. Really cheap. Groceries are cheap. This is Japan. Here you get your uh ramen. Look at that. Soba ramen. Four packs for two bucks. A dollar something. Dirt cheap. Look at all this noodles. So cheap. Oh, look at that. I need my beer. That’s so cheap. Poker sweat 200 for a big one. Those are muggi cha. Wow. Cowp soda. That is cheap. It’s pretty nasty. Milk tea 200 for 1.5 liter. I got some palm. Pretty cheap. Oh, I want this Gzone. $1.99. Here’s a lot of different sakees. Really cheap. 1,000 yen. I should buy some. Bring it to drink in the here. The big cup. Ozaki. 200 yen. So cheap. See how cheap sake is m chew high strong 9% for $1.39. That’s crazy. Limo. Oh, that looks pretty good. I’m going to try one instead of beer.
This is an updated version from Aug 2025 of shopping at a supermarket in Japan. Cost have stayed the same but shrinkflation has been very evident.
