Is this is the STRANGEST Ramen in Japan? #japan #japantravel #travel
I never thought I’d make this video. What I’m about to tell you is probably going to gross you out, but my friend has finally convinced me to put ice cream in my ramen in Osaka. Welcome to Frankenstein Ramen. You’re going to know the second you get here that you’re probably not in for a normal bowl of food in Japan. Frankenstein’s behind a cage waiting to greet you. And it’s only going to get stranger. Like most restaurants in Japan’s larger cities, you’ll order at a touchpad just outside the restaurant. And we’re ordering the specialty. Here’s what I didn’t expect. a full soft serve ice cream cone in a bowl of spicy miso ramen. The ramen by itself is so good. Chewy noodles, thick broth, but so so spicy. So, I did as I was told and stirred the ice cream and the cone into the ramen. I’m not going to lie, I expected this to taste absolutely terrible. Instead, it’s probably one of the best bowls of ramen I’ve ever had. Wait, let me explain. The broth by itself is so flavorful that all the ice cream really does is give it these cooling hints of vanilla and chocolate and cut through the spice a little bit. It’s better with the ice cream than without it. It was by far one of the most unique bowls of food I’ve ever had. So now I’m going back for another video because I’m a believer. And this time we’re trying the cake ramen.
Maybe one of the stranger ramen experiences I’ve had in Japan.
