Japan Visa For Indians 2025 | How to apply Japan tourist visa from India | Step By Step Tutorial

Hey what’s up guys. I hope you all are doing well. Welcome back to my channel. So recently me and my wife have gone to Japan. And we applied for Japan tourist visa ourselves without the help of any agent. So this tourist visa was a sticker visa and we applied for it through a bore. So in today’s video I am going to share with you how you can apply for Japan tourist visa from VFS Global and what is going to be its fee? How much time does it take, what documents will you need, I am going to share all these instructions with you in today’s video. At the end of the video I am going to share with you many important tips which I have learned from my personal experience. So do not skip the video and watch it till the end. So let’s get started. So guys, step number one is that you have to go to the VFS Global website and book a slot. Slot booking means that you have to take an appointment from them for a particular day or a particular time to apply for Japan visa . I will tell you how you will apply, complete details step by step later. But before that, let us know how many days in advance you have to do it and how to book a slot. So for slot booking, you have to go to this website. I have put the link in the description box and this is the official website from where you have to apply and on this website, you have to book a slot 1 month in advance. So in peak season, you are going to get a slot almost 1 month later. Meaning if today’s date is 20 August, then you are going to get a slot on almost 15 September or 17 September. So that’s why you have to apply almost 3 months in advance. You have to apply in the sense that you have to book a slot 3 months in advance so that if your visa gets rejected in the first attempt, you can re-book a slot and apply again. So this is step one that you have to book a slot. Now let ‘s talk about the fees. So guys, the fee for Japan visa is officially ₹450 only which is refunded if you do not get the visa, then you will get ₹450 back. So the official visa fee is only ₹450 but the service charge of VFS Global through which we are applying is ₹800. Apart from this, for sticker visa, you have to submit your passport which you will get after it is stamped. So after the sticker visa is stamped on your passport, you have to go to collect the passport. But in the bore, this service is mandatory that you will get the visa through courier to your home. So the passport will be delivered to your home. There is a separate charge of ₹550 per person. The official website of VFS Global says that this is optional but when I went there, they did not give me any option. They said that brother, the visa is not coming to the embassy to collect you. Your passport will be delivered to your home directly by courier . So you will have to avail that service. So, roughly, you will get your Japan visa sticker for tourism visa for ₹1800. I know this is weird but true they only accept cash. Now let’s talk about how much time it is going to take. Once the slot is booked, you reach the centre. You have completed the entire process of documentation. No no, after giving the cash, you have to wait for one hour to get that receipt . Yes one hour. After that you will get the visa within six working days . So guys the next step is documentation. So right now I am telling you exactly which documents you are going to need. So the documents that are required for Japan visa are a bit complicated. But at the end of the video I am going to share with you. I am going to share with you the template of all the documents that I had applied. So do watch the video till the end. So the first document you are going to need is your passport which is valid for the next 3 months. After that you are going to need a photo copy. The photo you are going to need is original in which the background should be white. I will put its specifications here. So exactly you have to take a photo of this specification. After this you have to fill the application form which you will get on the website of VFS Global . I have put the link in the description box. Apart from this you are going to need a covering letter in which you will fill your complete details about what you are going to do How are you coming? I am going to share all those details, the itinerary, with you at the end. So you can download it from there. If you are employed in a company in the private sector, then you will need an NOC or a leave letter. How should its letterhead be? What to write in it, I will share all those details with you at the end. So you can download it from there. This is also called a leave approval letter. If you do business, then you will need a GST certificate. If you are a student, then you will need a bonafide certificate from the school. Apart from this, you will need proof of accommodation. Suppose you book from Airbnb or book a hotel from somewhere, then you will need proof of that. And the booking should be in the name of the person who is coming with you or in your name . You will have to enter the name exactly as it is in the passport . Apart from this, if you are employed then you have to submit 2 years ITR, after that you have to submit 3 months latest pay slips and you have to submit 3 months bank statement and I will also share with you what should be the bank balance later. If your trip is sponsored then you have to submit the sponsorship letter of the person who has sponsored you and you have to submit these documents I have mentioned IT returns, bank statement and salary slip of that sponsor. After that, from where you are taking a flight from India, you will have to pay for the flight from India to Japan and the flight from Japan to India. If you are travelling with your family then you have to apply together, your application will be together. So if you live on rent in any city and the address on your passport and your current address are not matching then you have to attach a copy of the rental agreement, the current one. There is no need to attach old rental agreements. Apart from this, if you are married and your wife’s name and surname are not the same, then you will have to attach the marriage certificate as well. Apart from this, among the original documents, you will have to submit only your leave approval letter, NOC, your covering letter and your original passport. Apart from this, all the documents will be your printouts. If you want to make your application strong, then you can also attach your mutual funds and stock portfolio report and additionally you can also attach your PF account statement, which will make your application even stronger . So all your documents are ready now. You have to fill the form and paste a photograph on it and make it ready and you have to reach your visa center. So the one in the borough is in Gopalan Mall. You have to go there. So now let’s talk about some important tips and how was my personal experience. So guys, the Gopalan Mall in the city is quite crowded . So if your slot is in the morning, make sure that you reach there with enough buffer and there is a big parking issue there, so if possible, take a cab and come back. But there is another problem there. If you carry a laptop in the let, you cannot carry it inside. So I went by car. I had kept my laptop in my car. You can come with someone and if you need your laptop or something else urgently, you can give it to them and you can take their help. So, it happened with me that in the application that we had given, mine and my wife’s, we had attached the hotel copy in both our flight tickets . So what did they do? They kept only one copy of the hotel bookings. That means, we had attached two copies each, one for the wife and the other for me, so only one of them was kept. They had removed everything else. So, I had also attached the travel insurance and the broadband bill. They had removed both of them. So I had booked a guys slot on 24th February and I got the date of 17th March 2025. On 17th March, I went to the center of VFS Global and my visa came on 25th March . Let’s assume that it will take you 10 days for processing. So what format should the cover letter you are going to use and the items you have to mention in it be in. What format should your leave approval letter be in? I have put the links of all those documents in the description box. You can download from there. Apart from this, if you have any questions, then definitely tell me in the comment section. I will answer all the questions. So let’s go now It is on my computer screen. There I show you how to download the form and how to book a slot. After clicking on the link given in the description, you will come to this page. Here you have to book and appointment. So Chennai, Cochin, Hyderabad and Puducherry, here you can select your application center. So you have to click here. After that if you do not have an account here, then click on I don’t have an account. After that create an account by entering your details here. After this enter your mobile number here and by selecting all the check boxes the register button will be enabled. Click on that register and your registration is done. After registering you will get an email. After that login with your credentials. After logging in, click on start new booking and here you have to fill your appointment details. So select your visa center. I have selected Bor here. After this you have to select the category of your visa . So we have done short term. Here you can select tourist multiple entry or single entry. But if you are applying for the first time, then you will get a single entry visa only. But you can select multiple entry . So I had selected multiple entry here. After this, it will show you the earliest available slot. So here you can see that 18 September 2025 is the next slot. So we will click continue. After this you have to fill your details. As mentioned in your passport. After that fill all the details here. Passport number, ah passport expiry date, etc. After that you have to enter your mobile number here as I have entered and enter the correct email ID because on this you are going to get your visa appointment form and you have to print this appointment form and take it with you. Similarly, you can fill the form for your other appointments. Like I have shown here, Lallan Singh’s wife is Lalli Singh. So for that also you have to fill the same form. And enter the passport number here . Enter the expiry date of your passport and you will also have to enter its email ID and number here. Here you have to enter Lalli Singh’s mobile number. And the email ID will also be of Lalli Singh. After that you have to save. See, if there are spaces in the name then it is not getting saved, so remove the spaces etc. and you have to save here. Here you will see the slots which are available and which are not available, so the 18th was available. After that you can book the slot as per your convenience morning, afternoon, evening. Look here I have booked 10:30. Then there was also 11, so I selected 11. After that you click on continue and check all the details that you have filled here once again. After that you confirm by checking these check boxes. After clicking on confirm, you will get a mail on your email ID and you have to print that form and take it with you. So now I will show you how to download the form and how to fill it. So you will come to the website of VFS Global. After that there is an option of download form here. Click on it. Here you will get this PDF. I have put its link in the description box. Directly you will come to the same page. After that you have to download this form. You have to fill it in this browser and here enter your surname properly and name as it is in your passport. After that enter the date of birth in this format, place of birth and your marital status and here enter your nationality and citizenship Indian. Here you have to select India. So you have to select India from the list. After that you have to enter your Aadhaar number here. Select Ordinary in passport. Enter the place of issue which is written in your passport. Date of issue will also be written on the same passport, enter that. In issuing authority you have to enter Ministry of External Affairs comma Government of India. Date of expiry is also written on the passport. So enter it from there. Do not fill anything in Certificate of Eligibility Number. Enter purpose tourism. Enter date of arrival of Japan exactly. And at which port are you entering, like Hada or Toda, enter the name of the airline, here you have to enter your hotel card name and telephone and address, after that if you have stayed in Japan before, then enter for how many days you stayed, in my case it was not applicable, after this here you have to enter your current address, whatever Your current address will be there and here it is possible that the full address may not appear, then you will have to cut it and enter it, after that put not applicable in your telephone number and fill in the mobile number. After that you have to enter the email ID properly. Here you have to enter your company’s address and telephone number . After that, on this page, mostly everywhere you will find not applicable . The whole page is not applicable. And after that, as soon as you fill all this as not applicable. After that, here you have to click no no no no everywhere. You read it once. I have read it, so I have marked everything as no no. After that, enter the date of your slot appointment in the date of application here and print it . After printing, you have to sign it and paste your photo. Along with this, print your appointment letter as well. That is also required.
