Need the transportation card in Japan? Here’s how to get one in under a minute. We’re at Shinjuku Station, one of many stations where you can grab an IC card like Pasmo or Squeaker. Head to the ticket machines, look for ones that let you charge or buy a card. Many do both. Switch the language to English. Tap Pasmo or then select purchase new card. You can get a personalized one or go simple with a blank version. Totally fine for travelers. Add some money. Note that 500 yen goes towards the card itself. Insert your cash.
