🌶️ The spiciest man in Japan

This is one of my favorite things that I bought in Japan. I was wandering around the most charming neighborhood in Tokyo called Sugamo Gizadori when I came across this stand. This gentleman was selling the Japanese seasoning called shiin toarashi. It’s made up of red chili powder, yuzu, ginger, seaweed, sesame, and a Japanese cardamom among other herbs and spices. You can get your own custom blend and have it packaged in one of these jars. I asked for a super spicy mix. Oops. My camera wasn’t recording when he was scooping up the red chilies, but he mixed up my concoction and poured it into the container that I chose. This is a common condiment you can get at any supermarket, but I loved this unique stand and my custom foodie souvenir. This container is so clever. You just twist the top to reveal the opening. And the shiimi, it goes well on
