Today we travel to Japan’s Snow Village, Ginzan Onsen. Please enjoy the journey! Hello. I’m at Tokyo Station today. Today, I’ll head to the world-famous snow town, “Ginzan Onsen” This is the route for today. Tokyo Station 10:00 – Oishida Station 13:16 Oishida Station 14:10 – Ginzan Onsen 14:53 via bus

Shinkansen 🚅 3 hours 16 minutes, Bus 🚌 43 minutes. The fare was ¥15,430 (one-way) There’s 10 minutes left before departure, Let’s get an Ekiben first. This is the best selling Ekiben in Japan, and it also happens to be from the same prefecture we are heading today. “Beef Dominica” (1,350 yen)

I’ll buy the world’s best selling bottled tea as well Today we ride the Tsubasa Shinakansen. Yamabiko/Tsubasa at 23. This is Yamagata Shinkansen “Tsubasa”. looks cute. There’s only one train running every hour from Tokyo, so it’s always crowded. crowded. Tsubasa 133, bound for Yamagata. Let’s get on board now.

This is the interior of the bullet train (2-2) My seat is 3C. All the window seats were occupied today. Everyone is visiting Ginzan onsen. We are leaving on time. Goodbye, everyone in Tokyo. There are suitcases on the shelves. There seem to be many people from overseas.

Aside from the Tokyo to Osaka of Tokaido Shinaksen, This is one of the only bullet train’s where you can see the wowza Mount Fuji from the window side. On a clear day, Which is today. There are also on-board sales. But I have this today. Here is my lunch. It looks delicious. Wow

A collaboration of best sellers. Let’s eat. meat Thank you for the meal. In-vehicle sales are approaching. What? It’s the same bento. Oh well, let’s have ice cream. I like vanilla. It is frozen hard as usual. Ice cream. Not sure if it’s because I was eating ice cream, but it’s snowing now.

By the way, this “Tsubasa” made its debut in 1997 and has a maximum speed of 275 km/h and because it is made smaller for the standards of conventional lines. It’s called “mini Shinkansen” The separation from Yamabiko was made here in Fukushima. See you Yamabiko. This is the Japanese snow town.

It’s a blizzard out there. We’ll be arriving in about 5 minutes. Oh no look at all that snow Amazing. Almost at Oishida. I hope I can catch the bus from Oishida in time. Oishida Station. Holy moly that is a lot of snow I’m going to turn into a snowman.

Last time I was here, There was an insane line for the bus. I remember having to resort to using the taxi. Bad times This leaves at 14:10, right? I have to check it on the way back. The last bus will be at 18:21. There’s a waiting area.

It seems like people are seated in the waiting room in order. Let’s wait here for a moment. Bus is ¥1000 per ride A 30 minute bus ride Just beautiful. We have arrived. It’s been about 2 years since last time. Let’s keep walking. Heyyyy Hello Ginzan Onsen! Pretty cool

So this one of the only public onsen here It’s supposed to end at 4:00, but It’s closed for some reason. How is this possible No Onsen at Ginzan Onsen?? Footbaths are available. and what else is available… That place, the most popular restaurant in Ginzan onsen.

The last time I came here, they didn’t have anything left on the menu. Yes, I have to take revenge this time. A long queue again!!!!!! It’s more crowded than last time. an hour queue (what the heck) Okay, I will be back. Last time I was here

I think all the famous curry bread was sold out. How about today? THE PERSON AHEAD OF ME BOUGHT ONE. And sold out. ???? The lucky last one. Yay Yay Yay. However, it is a mystery whether this is delicious or not. I bet it’s better if it’s warmed up. Alright. Thank you, currypan man.

It’s cold. Btw, I will tell you a little about Ginzan Onsen. It used to be a Silver mining area and now is a hot spring town, located about 1 hour by car from the Yamanata City. As it is a hot spring town located in the mountains,

It is extremely cold and snow falls like this. The hot spring town is lined with many wooden hot spring ryokans(hotels) on both banks of the Ginzan River, making you feel as if you have traveled back in time to the Taisho era. The snow is falling on this Taisho era-like atmosphere,

And at dusk, the town lights come on, creating a nostalgic sight that fascinates people. This silver mine has a history of about 500 years. As you pass through the old-fashioned townscape created by wooden buildings, you will find a silver mine cave that was actually dug out.

This is the ruins of a silver mine and was said to be one of Japan’s three silver mines at that time. This is one of the many mines that has been dug but now it has been maintained to prevent it from collapsing. You can visit this place for free.

Although it is difficult to be born in this era, The work here is unimaginable. “Shiragane Falls” located there by the Ginzan River, is truly a world of silver. There are some things for sale on the banks of the Ginzan River. There are lots of Japanese matryoshka, called Kokeshi dolls.

Those are a specialty of Yamagata. twins, triplets and so on. This is the cafe I visited last time, “Crie”, I was once a victim of the queue in freezing weather What is this? ? ? ? It’s a footbath in the summer. Let’s touch it. I feel like I’ve been walking a lot, but What time is it now? Before 4 o’clock. There were still 5 groups ahead of me. I’m getting hungry so let’s go to the second most popular food place This is Tofuya Nogawa. There is also a queue here. There’s a blizzard.

Standing-eating raw fried food (250 yen) Since the name is already “standing-eating”, you are forced to eat standing up. But I’m an evil human being so I’ll sit down and eat it all. Thank you. My turn will be in 30 mins. It’s getting dark outside. Let’s go out a bit.

The color outside has gradually changed. It has begun to be illuminated with lights. Finally, I was let inside. A menu with photos would be very helpful. It looks delicious. the most popular item is “Fried Eggplant Oroshi Soba” (1,430 yen). It also has green onions, which I like, and it looks so good.

Itadakimasu. Let’s start with the soba noodles. It has improved again. I love this. The colour of the eggplant stimulates your appetite. ! ! I thought the soba noodles were the main dish, but it was only the side charactor. I fell in love with fried eggplants. Let’s be grateful for what’s left.

Thank you for the meal. I also ordered dessert. I’ll have ice cream, with soybean flour, and brown sugar syrup (980 yen) ummm Ah, there’s something inside. Let’s give it a try. I wonder if everyone can eat this neatly. Sorry. The name of this restaurant is… Izu no Hana.

The entire price was 2,410 yen. The sun has completely set. Goodbye. Thank you for the meal. It’s a little dark. The street lights create a nice atmosphere. Someone broke the ??? machine lollll Oh no, a duck is stuck in the river. saved it from the brink of death.

Back to his family (wholesome moment) It’s almost time for the bus. warm. The bus arrived late so I guess I’m going to miss my train back The Shinkansen was delayed, so I made it on time. This kind of thing usually doesn’t happen. Lucky me. I was totally lucky. warm.

I’m really glad I made it on time. And today we will get off at the next station. I am planning to stay in Yamagata city. Thank you for being late. You made my day. bye bye. I chose this hotel very close to Yamagata Station. It also had a hot spring.

It’s only US$52 for a night. Arrived. Sounds good. Ah, my lucky number. Open Sesame Seed. It’s small. Well, let’s go. Then I realized that the bar was open. I think I can drink plum wine. It looks like you can try it for free. Thank you. You can also do your laundry here.

And now let’s go. This is the men’s bath. Hot water is not dirty. It’s a brown color from natural hot springs. I was able to fully enjoy the hot springs by myself. The hot water was very good. I’ve been walking a lot, so my feet are just exhausted.

The cold was extraordinary, and the onsen was just like heaven. I am already sleepy. good night. good morning. Breakfast is included. It’s a “healthy breakfast” – We can enjoy a healthy meal in the morning. I think Japanese food is very healthy. Miso soup is also good.

Looks like we’ll get plenty of vegetables and protein. Now, let’s eat. It was a good breakfast. Thank you for the meal. Thank you for cozy stay. The snow is really fascinating. Thank you for watching until the end. Let’s meet again in another country. Have a fab day!

  8. I grew up in snow…and hated every minute of it. Cold, frozen, heck. I’ll stick to watching videos of other people getting snowed on. Those hot springs look inviting, however.
