It is extremely cold and snow falls like this. The hot spring town is lined with many wooden hot spring ryokans(hotels) on both banks of the Ginzan River, making you feel as if you have traveled back in time to the Taisho era. The snow is falling on this Taisho era-like atmosphere,

And at dusk, the town lights come on, creating a nostalgic sight that fascinates people. This silver mine has a history of about 500 years. As you pass through the old-fashioned townscape created by wooden buildings, you will find a silver mine cave that was actually dug out.

This is the ruins of a silver mine and was said to be one of Japan’s three silver mines at that time. This is one of the many mines that has been dug but now it has been maintained to prevent it from collapsing. You can visit this place for free.

Although it is difficult to be born in this era, The work here is unimaginable. “Shiragane Falls” located there by the Ginzan River, is truly a world of silver. There are some things for sale on the banks of the Ginzan River. There are lots of Japanese matryoshka, called Kokeshi dolls.
