That big angry head is kushikatsu daruma, the maskot of this chain of restaurants. They specialise in that type of tempura we had at the bad isakaya at Shinsekai. It is said to be good, didn't have it though.
That sign where you describe mezedes actually says "masa" which is very funny, as masa is the greek slang word for food😂
