Hong Kong: The Neon Light City – The Inspiration for the Cyberpunk aesthetics, Walking Mongkok, 4K

Hong Kong 香港, the night city which – along Tokyo 東京 – inspired the Cyberpunk look and feel, defined its aesthetics in film and literature. Movies like Blader Runner and Ghost In The Shell directly cite Hong Kong as the major influence for their style, William Gibson’s Necromancer mirrors its grittiness.

This is the night city walk of the most densely populated place in Hong Kong and therefore also worldwide: Mongkok on Kowloon Peninsula 旺角, 九龍.

It is one of the most popular areas for young, fashionable people of Hong Kong. Full of electronic shops, fashion, food stalls, restaurants and gadget places. Modern, yet traditional. Ever-changing but still the same.

Plenty of food, products, people and other exciting stuff!

This is your chance to see what is according to the Guiness World Records the busiest district in the world.

No talking, no music this time, only environmental sound to get the full, unfiltered experience of the dense and loud place Hong Kong is. Including all the noise pollution: it‘s a feature, not a bug.
