  1. As a California Boy who has driven the coast multiple times, you are in for an awesome trip. We are doing the West Coast again this summer, but not the California Coast in our 40' Class A toyhauler. If driving through Yosemite with the Minnie Winnie you still aren't going to make friends driving on the road, but with your jeep, it will be a groovy happening experience. I hope you can stay in the Yosemite Valley overnight. It gets so much quieter, maybe even have some bears come through camp. Hug a few trees in the redwood forest, we'll be doing that ourselves in a few weeks after the Fulltime Families Rally, a week up at Tahoe, and a week in the SF Bay.

  2. We have a Winnebago View and love it. Yes we find camping spots without problems. Love our View but it’s just 2 retired folks! I use bins for everything. You could put shelves in the closet. Enjoy!

  3. We did Big Sur in our class a tiffin open road 32 ca last week and fitting in our site in Pfeiffer state park in Big Sur was a challenge but we did it , we where by far the biggest rig out there 😂

  4. Clothes— North Face pants and Simms Fishing shirts — wash and dry in Shower. Suggest entry into California in Lassen County drive west to Crescent City turning South – Visit Pacific Lumber Redwood saw mill continue south to Fort Bragg Mendocino. Experience the Skunk Train into and back out of woods. Continue South to Sea Ranch – Fort Ross turn east to Sonoma – Napa Valley continue east the the Delta Environs and Stockton. More later unless you RSVP have the route.

  5. I just sold my 2018 Winnie, had a wonderful time traveling in “Moose”. The things I didn’t like and will never have again and the reason I sold it was the corner bed, no pantry, plastic and tight toilet area. I used all the cabinets over the table for Pantry which was ok, but not ideal. There is more storage under the booth seats if you need, but you have to lift the cushions. The good part, never had any mechanical issues, it was very reliable. I’m excited to see your adventure, safe travels. 😉 Have fun!!

  6. Couldn’t get me too go to that worthless state. Otr driver and its the worst state in the country. I wouldn’t spend 3 dollars i that chip hole. Wife and i stopped at needles (drug mess) turned around and never again in comiefornia. Spent a lot of 80s 90z in that garbage state….. i would not recommend it too anybody.
So much of the rest of the country that is better.
Most of west coast is garbage.

  7. Welcome (soon) to California(taxAfornia) Northern CA is My home! I hope you enjoy your stay! Lots to see and Do if you like ocean and trees! 🙂 may I suggest Patricks Point(sue-Meg) they renamed it. Trinidad is right next to it. My familey normally does the Oregon cost trip up to Astoria Oregon. the drive alone is worth it!.

  8. It will be interesting to see how your family does in a class C for two months after living in a 5th wheel.

  9. I do a shake down at the start of each camping season just to make sure everything is still functioning. Great video, thanks for sharing.

  10. Super excited for you guys to visit out West. I'm sure you have a long list of places to visit, but I wanted to offer a suggestion, Del Norte Coast Redwoods State Park. It is (way) up the California coast, just south of Crescent City, near the more popular Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park (which is wonderful too), but there is something about Del Norte that is just so special. I think it is how almost Jurassic Parkish it feels, with these huge tree stumps that are all moss covered and moss hanging from the giant trees, it is truly magical. No playground for Hensley and JJ, but so many instant 'forts' and lots of adventures to be had. Enjoy your journey!

  11. Off the wall question. There was another couple pulling an airstream and driving a 4c4 van to pull. She was blonde with short hair. I don’t see to see anything from them anymore. The were full time and fun to watch.

  12. Oh you’re going to love it. We have a 2019, 25 foot Thor Synergy. We literally just got home on Thursday. We live in Vancouver, BC and we drove all the way down the coast from Vancouver BC to Washington, Oregon, and California and were away a month. Granted there’s just two of us but let’s face it, you’re outside most of the time. You will most definitely appreciate the smaller RV on the curvy roads and tight National parks. Soooo much to see, Welcome to the West Coast!!!!

  13. Good luck in California. Grew up and spent 36 years of my life right outside Yosemite. It’s a beautiful place but not worth living there anymore. We sold our home there last year and started our RV adventure.

  14. I can't wait for your California adventures. We live in California so if you make it to French Camp RV park in Manteca California, let us know. We also met Wild on the go here!

  15. We have a 2018 Minnie Winnie also, the only exception is our kitchen is on the side where your table is and my table is not round. We like it quite a bit we do not live in it full time as our home base is in Pahrump NV. We do not tow another vehicle. My storage for food is above the sink and for the dishes etc is above the couch, and yes I have made that bed by myself. We also have taken our rig down and up the California coast Loved it and you will to, Enjoy and Safe travels. God Bless

  16. Haha, you "kids" make me laugh. 🙂 We did 2 months in a small VW Dasher Wagon (with rooftop cargo carrier) around the country.–tent, cooking gear, ice chest, and a small tote for each person's clothing (2 adults, 2 kids). Maybe if we'd made a video (didn't exist in the early 1980's) of our thought processes I would have had similar doubts/worries but I don't recall that part. I think the only real problem we had was when a chipmunk? found it's way into the car and took up residence for maybe a week (and we couldn't locate it–but chewed up our snacks in the back)! You'll have fun and some more great stories to tell…mostly if you remember that it's not permanent, you are going on vacation from your normal life! Enjoy! PS–looking forward to hearing about making reservations for National Parks—so not a problem in the 1980's—and our style was "show up when we get there".

  17. 24 feet isn’t what I would consider small. A 19 foot B van is what I consider small. But, compared to a big fifth wheel, it is.

  18. Awesome!!! This looks super fun!
I just had to say, I’m from Alberta, Canada, and I was just in Pigeon Forge a week ago for the “Teach Them Diligently” homeschool convention. It truly is a beautiful part of the country! Very cool!
And now I’m going to watch the next episode of your Minnie Winnie adventure! Thanks so much for making and posting these videos of your adventures! 😁

  19. Lazy days not always when I purchased mine it was hook and delivered no walk through! Thanks for the money now leave

  20. There is no question as to whether or not that RV should be level—you have a propane fridge and it has to be level to run properly and safely.

  21. A Minnie Winnie!! That's exactly what I have (of course, much much older). We love it! Can't wait to see the rest of this series. Thanks for taking us along for the ride and safe travels.

  22. So we just bought a 31 foot 5th wheel (2013) (New to us). We also have a 2019 pop-up truck camper for the Dodge for going in tight places or to get off-road. It works for us.
