There is so much to see in Tokyo, Japan that the only way to see it all is to live their for a lifetime! In our guide to visiting Tokyo, we visited as many top sights as possible during our week in the city, and filmed the experience to share with you! Whether you are creating your own Tokyo itinerary, or are simply interested in what Tokyo, Japan is really like, we think you’ll love how this video came together. Tokyo feels like a universe of it’s own. There is a new experience around every corner and you can truly find something for everyone in this megacity.

Our guide to Tokyo covers the top tourist sights in the city. We start off at Tokyo Tower to get a proper look at the Tokyo skyline before heading to the world famous Shibuya crossing. Not only is this the busiest crosswalk in the entire world, but it is also a bustling neighborhood with so many things to do and see. To top it off, Shibuya is home to the Hachiko statue, which is the cutest and also saddest statue in Tokyo! If you are a dog lover, we highly recommend visiting Hachiko’s statue to pet Japan’s best dog.

Team Labs in Tokyo had to be our favourite activity in the city, and it is perfect for a rainy day! Be sure to book ahead though as this interactive art installation is really popular are definitely books up. For non-rainy days, we can recommend a visit to Asakusa. With Nakamise shopping street and Sensoji Temple, a visit to this area of Tokyo will keep you busy for hours, especially if you’re looking for Japanese souvenirs! If you’re looking for a totally different vibe (think anime, cosplay, and work-class gamers), head to Akihabara for a close look at a very cool part of the Japanese culture. This is the kind of place that will really make you take notice of the new country you are visiting – we loved it!

For a slightly more underground feel with an epic fashion scene, head to Takeshita Street in Harajuku. Here, you will find all the stores that sell the wild and exotic pieces of clothing that you saw people wearing in Akihabara. You can also try some really cool Japanese food and visit any kind of animal cafe that your head desires. And of course, there are lots of delicious themed-cafes here as well, like the Pompompurin Cafe that we tried out.

The Japan-famous Tsukiji Fish Market is another interesting stop if you’re visiting Tokyo, particularly if you’re a seafood lover. We enjoyed walking around the market to try some street food, but you’ll have to watch the video to see you final thoughts! And finally, we toured Odaiba to see the Gundam statue that makes this place well-known.

  1. 14 millions, yes that is just the city itself. The area all grown into one city is 37 millions. Thanks for the video. It's fun to see your reaction to Japan.

  2. Usually there should be more cars on the road, but I wonder why there were so few on this day.
Maybe this day was a Saturday?
However, there were certainly fewer cars on this day.

  3. The interactive art experience is one of the coolest things I've ever seen, and totally worth the money. The one room looked like you were in the Matrix.

  4. Brace brace brace everybody, Nicole has found the bookstore, what will Nicole make of this? This could take hours with Nicole in Japan in a bookstore, happy reading Nicole, much love to you both ✌️❤️🇬🇧
