  1. Thank you, Matt for showing the older parts of Kadena Circle. Some of my old stomping grounds. I lived on base few years before we left Okinawa so I used to hang out with friends that lived around Kadena Circle. Used to shop right outside BC street as teenagers. Doesn't look like over 50 years ago 😹That's when I was there. I was born in Naha, 1958. Left to live stateside in 73 and returned to see mama in 1990. I thought I was lost then 😹I'm sure I'll be totally lost when I go back someday. Thank you, Matt❣ Do you think you'll be taping anytime in Futenma and Ishikawa? My other stomping grounds 😹 Also please do more Okinawan ghost stories 😺

  2. That music sounds like music you would hear in Minecraft..lol…great video! Love seeing the island

  3. If I remember correctly, Kadena Circle was a round about road way in 1970's. I bought me first motorcycle there. So much has changed i can't recognize hardly anything. There were reports that cars were blown off the road at the west end of the runway when the SR 71 would do run-ups parked at the west end. There was a great little eating place by the sea wall called Kinia's kitchen. just a little place with 4 tables. Ahh the good old days

  4. Thanks for the great video. I can’t wait to see these places in person. I’m coming to live there in a little while so you are helping me get familiar with the area before I arrive.

Have you ever considered writing articles for totalokinawa.com? They have some great tours of places. I am not affiliated with them at all but am starved for American opinions on Okinawa. 😆

  5. I used to go to a bar somewhere in Kadena Circle called Studio 451, circa 1983. I want to say it was actually somewhere inside the circle and I remember having to climb stairs to get to it.

Mellow place, had the customary loose leaf notebook on the bar with music you could request and kareoke.

But no idea if its still there or exactly which street it was on, I am going through storage right now and if I come across the bar shirt I know I had for Studio 451 I will see if it has an address on it.

  6. I used to get 10 squid tempura for a dime, cross the street to play some pachinko. This is back in late 60's early 70's. There was also a secluded waterhole between KC and yomitan that only the teenagers knew about. Good Times. It's changed alot. Thanks for the memories.

  7. Great video. Brings back memories. But man do those sudden camera swings or left to right pans give me a headache!
