Kyoto to Nagoya Japan on Shinkansen Bullet Train 2023

In this Shinkansen bullet train travel guide we are going from Kyoto to Nagoya. The train ride takes about a 1 hour and 20 minutes. The ticket lines in Kyoto are quite long and do get busy so I recommend purchasing the ticket online.

  1. The base fare ticket (the first ticket) only gets you through the ticket gates, however since the Shinkansen is what's known as a "Super Express" train you have to pay the "Limited Express" surcharge for taking the Shinkansen (that's what the second ticket does). The same time happens if you're taking a Limited Express train such as the Narita Express.
