・アッケシソウ(厚岸草)
アッケシソウは日本では北海道、香川,岡山に分布する1年草です。
和名は北海道厚岸郡厚岸（あっけし）町の牡蠣島で発見されたことにちなみます。
アッケシソウは海水の入り込む海岸の草地に生える植物で、世界的には北半球のほとんど全域に見られます。
茎は多くの枝に別れ、高さ5～35cmになります。枝は茎よりも短く、葉は肉質で、秋に緑から赤へと色づきます。
日本での花期は8月から9月で、花は上部の節に3個つきます。
かつて、本州の宮城県、四国の愛媛県や徳島県にも生育が確認されていましたが、海岸の開発が主な要因で減少し、絶滅してしまいました。
環境省のレッドデータブックでは近い将来に絶滅の危険が高い種 (EN) に指定され、さらに近年では地盤沈下や湖岸の侵食により、年々減少しているとの報告がある。
最初に自生が確認された厚岸湖では最奥部に僅かに見られるだけになっている。
・アッケシソウ祭り
新型コロナウイルス禍の影響で中止が続いていた「アッケシソウ祭り」を４年ぶりに開催。
期間中、観賞エリア近くまで車で入れるようフェンスを開放し、守る会のメンバーが自生地を案内する。
日時：2023年10月14日（土曜日）から10月23日（月曜日）まで
毎日9時から16時まで
場所：寄島アッケシランドA・B地区及びC地区

In Japan, Salicorum is an annual plant that is distributed in Hokkaido, Kagawa, and Okayama.
The Japanese name comes from the fact that it was discovered on Oyster Island in Akkeshi Town, Akkeshi District, Hokkaido.
Salicaria is a plant that grows in coastal grasslands where saltwater enters, and is found throughout most of the northern hemisphere.
The stem divides into many branches and grows from 5 to 35 cm in height. The branches are shorter than the stem, and the leaves are fleshy and change color from green to red in autumn.
The flowering season in Japan is from August to September, and there are three flowers on the upper node.
It was once confirmed to grow in Miyagi Prefecture on Honshu, and Ehime and Tokushima Prefectures on Shikoku, but it has declined and become extinct mainly due to coastal development.
According to the Ministry of the Environment’s Red Data Book, this species is designated as a species at high risk of extinction in the near future (EN), and in recent years it has been reported that it has been decreasing year by year due to land subsidence and lakeshore erosion.
At Lake Akkeshi, where it was first confirmed to grow naturally, it can only be seen in the deepest part of Lake Akkeshi.
・Sakkashisou Festival
The “Sakkashisou Festival”, which had been canceled due to the effects of the new coronavirus, will be held for the first time in four years.
During this period, the fence will be opened so that you can drive close to the viewing area, and members of the conservation group will guide you through the natural habitat.
