🌟 Inari Shrine
We kick-started our day at Inari Shrine, a bustling spot both cherished by locals and adored by tourists. Dedicated to the Shinto god of rice and agriculture, this sacred place is famous for its thousands of vibrant torii gates lining the pathways.
And here’s a tip—explore beyond the main area for quiet spaces that make for stunning photos! 📸
✨ Japan souvenir: Personalize Your Torii Gate!
At Inari Shrine, we stumbled upon a stall offering personalized torii gates. While tradition suggests leaving these gates at the shrine with wishes, we decided to take ours home as a special keepsake.
😍 Ginkakuji Temple: Zen Beauty
Next stop, Ginkakuji Temple—the Silver Pavilion in stunning Zen style. Visit the lookout spot for breathtaking city vistas and don’t forget to treat yourself to some delightful matcha cream puffs outside the temple! 😋
🍻 Kyoto Food: Delicious Goyza & Okonomiyaki
For dinner, we headed to the popular spot, Cha Cha Goyza, in Kyoto. Be prepared for a line! The goyza dumplings were incredibly tasty, especially when paired with a cold and refreshing beer.
As we strolled through vibrant Pontocho, we couldn’t resist trying an okonomiyaki joint with a long line. We even got to make our own okonomiyaki—it was a delightful experience! Make sure to try the soba with oyster, it’s a must-try dish here.
