TRIBECA is a neighborhood in Lower Manhattan in New York City. Its name is a syllabic abbreviation of “Triangle Below Canal Street”. The “triangle” (more accurately a quadrilateral) is bounded by Canal Street, West Street, Broadway, and Chambers Street. By the 2010s, a common marketing tactic was to extend Tribeca’s southern boundary to either Vesey or Murray Streets to increase the appeal of property listings.
The neighborhood began as farmland, then was a residential neighborhood in the early 19th century, before becoming a mercantile area centered on produce, dry goods, and textiles, and then transitioning to artists and then actors, models, entrepreneurs, and other celebrities. The neighborhood is home to the Tribeca Festival, which was created in response to the September 11 attacks, to reinvigorate the neighborhood and downtown after the destruction caused by the terrorist attacks.

  2. 2023.10.10: Good day, Julien in NYC & what a very beautiful & sunny day for your amazing video walk! Thanks very much for another expertly done video showcasing the beautiful buildings with their exquisite & historic architectures, wonder what the thinking was to have so many steps just to get up to the front door of the Tweed Courthouse, maybe to tire some people out… Cheers & stay very safe! Have yourself a great day/evening, Julien in NYC! 🥰🥰🦅🦅

  3. Julien, we want more these little, collorful and shady streets of Manhattan 🙂 Thank you 🙂

  4. been to nyc twice. bro having a dog in this city must suck. so many streets are not dog friendly…. i saw so many videos where ppl carry their dogs or just move on, giving the dog zero chance to pee.

  5. I am always amazed by the interesting insights into your city. Thank you for your effort and greetings from Potsdam (Germany). ✌
