Hiroshima Bombing Story | Tour around the Atomic Hypocenter ★ ONLY in JAPAN

Today is the 74th anniversary of the Hiroshima Bombing – August 6, 2019
Hiroshima, August 6, 1945. It’s a day that changed everything. The atomic bomb decimated the city, killing nearly all nearby the blast. Fast forward about 75 years later, and Hiroshima is now a beautiful city, resurrected from the ruins of the post war period. Near the hypocenter is the Hiroshima Memorial Peace Park and Museum and across the river, the A-Bomb Dome which sits as it did, destroyed after the bomb in ruins. We’ll look at the area around the hypocenter and see old video footage from 1945 after the bomb. We’ll also meet a witness who will describe in detail the horror he saw as he volunteered to help in Hiroshima on August 7, 1945, the next day.

We’re now in the 4th generation since the bomb was dropped, those that were kids who could remember are now in their 80s and 90s. Yuji is a 3rd generation Hiroshima resident since the bomb and he wants to share the city of Hiroshima so people don’t forget the past. He learned a lot from his great uncle who told him stories as a kid of the horrors of that day and how the city rebuilt. Another reason is that he wants to teach his son so he can pass on the stories from his family who were alive nearby on that tragic day. They’re now tour guides in Hiroshima.

At age 92, Yuji’s great uncle shares his story of the day he will never forget. He lived in Kure city near by, saw the mushroom cloud and went into the city to help. His account is graphic, the scene is grim and real.

The city cannot erase it’s past but it can move on and write the next chapter in its history and I think that is where Hiroshima is today. Tourism to the city is increasing, many international visitors stop by Hiroshima to understand what happened on that day, pay their respects, and tours like the one with Yuji and Magical Trip I took is a way to understand just how much the city changed that day and how it’s re-invented itself since. I hope you can feel something for Hiroshima and if you are in Japan, it’s a must visit destination.

  1. 🙏I will never forget my Fathers stories, he was a WWII Veteran/Hero who fought against the Japanese. Ironically he grew up speaking English, Spanish, and Japanese. Worked at a Japanese grocery store in NorCal (Northern California, USA), when the call came he went and fought in the Philippines(wounded), and went to Hiroshima as soon as the Japanese surrendered as an occupation force (He Translated). Not once did my Dad say anything negative about the Japanese people (He cared for the Japanese people), he understood that it's just the way it was . I'm proud of my Dad. 😊🙏

  2. Not that it matters much with this type of weapon, but the Enola Gay actually missed its intended target, the t-shaped bridge, by around 300 to 350 meters (380 yards). Either due to an unexpected change in wind direction , or more likely , the usage of wrong settings in the bomb sight. One of the aerial photos of Hiroshima shows a huge star shaped scorch mark right next to a y-shaped road intersection marking the hypocenter of the detonation. The bomb exploded above some residental buildings there. While it is of no consequence to what the a-bomb did to the city of course, it is however noteworthy that if this had been a conventional, non carpet bombing run, the Enola Gay actually would have failed its mission by missing its target entirely. The Y-shaped intersection is still there today and can be located on Google Earth SSE from the T-shaped bridge. The point of detonation is just above that building with the rooftop parking lot.

  3. It’s against Japanese law to teach children the atrocities committed by Japan during WWII and of course the 1930’s.

No offense to Japan, but I won’t apologize for the US saving countless American lives by forcing a surrender by any means necessary. Hiroshima was a war factory city. Fair game.

  4. I'm sorry, but I have very little sorrow for an enemy who was happy engaging in mass suicides so long as they killed US troops in the process. I have no sympathy when Japanese women were rushing to US Marines lines, handing them their babies pretending to want to save their own infants' lives, only to detonate grenades and dynamite they hid in their diapers just to kill more Marines. Don't try to play the morality and sympathy cards now when the US engineered a way to reach the same result without senselessly losing anymore American lives. No more unnecessary casualties in a war that should've ended months earlier. A war that Japan couldn't possibly win, but continued fighting anyway just to take as many Americans with them to their graves as they possibly could.

  5. Japan committed so many war crimes its hard to feel sorry for them! Remember that they hit us first,we just hit back harder!

  6. Hiroshima and Nagasaki are crimes against humanity. It is a great injustice that America, which is the perpetrator of this crime, is pulling a hair out of the butter. If the Germans are experiencing the embarrassment of the concentration camps despite the 80 years that have passed, the Americans should also experience it.

  7. The bomb saved Japanese and American lives. fact. How is Hiroshima and nagasaki not radiated though?

  8. The people of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were innocents. They were not involved in the war. According to the law of war they should not be killed. Thus, Truman was a war -criminal. Winston Churchill was much worse as he suggested dropping atomic bombs on Moscow in 1945.

Dropping of Atomic bombs were unnecessary as Japan was negotiating a treaty of surrender with the Soviet Union in June-July 1945.

  9. Why ? Why did the sinister Japanese government command pilots and sailors attack Pearl Harbor… I'm sure thousands, if not millions of innocent Japanese people think much different about war at that time, but because of terrible ideology, millions of lives were lost , along with generations of families on all sides… Hitler, Emperor of Japan, these two monsters goes to show how devastating mankind can be…. for what ??? For what ?? Who won – nobody, who lost – everybody !! Everybody lost in WWI & WWII !!

  10. Hope all Japanese can learn the reason why Atomic Bombs were dropped to Japan and hope no Wars occur in the Word forever!!

  11. People Should Never forget , this very important part of historical history !!!
And Keep in mind, God is recording everything down Here!!! Nobody is getting away with anything!!! Accountability will be held by Hebrews 9:27!!

  12. 戦争なんて皆んな自分が正義だと思ってるってドラえもんの台詞思い出したわ。
    原爆は必要だったって言ってる人多いけど、次にどっかで核爆弾が落とされるときも同じこと言いながらやるんだろうね。

  13. Atomic bomb was a terrible war weapon. But we should also focus on why Japan needed to be stopped during that time. Pearl harbor, of course, and all the horrific things the Japanese has done in Asia. 200,000 murdered just the Nanking Massacre as a starter. Civilian victims of Japanese war crime is estimated at 5,964,000. When we look at the atomic bombs, we must also take into account what Japanese has done prior to the bombs during the WW2. More people would have died if the Japanese was not stopped.

  14. By R.J. Rummel. From the invasion of China in 1937 to the end of World War II, the Japanese military regime murdered near 3,000,000 to over 10,000,000 people, most probably almost 6,000,000 Chinese, Indonesians, Koreans, Filipinos, and Indochinese, among others, including Western prisoners of war.

  15. how about what they did in different countries? how about the horrible things their military did in the Philippines????

  16. Japan is an economic power, but honestly, this country lost its sovereignty to the US right after their defeat in World War 2. Many Japanese are still trying today cover up the humiliation of that defeat by avoiding telling the truth. They seem to have forgotten who dropped the first and only two atomic bombs so far on their country in 1945. They also seem to have forgotten who was stopping them economically at the end of the year 70 of the last century and ended a golden age of the Japanese economy. Today their nation has limited military development and is mostly dominated by the tens of thousands of American troops stationed there and like many other countries in the west, Japan doesn't have the courage to speak the truth, to speak up for political autonomy, they are just a radio broadcasting the directives of their American master never mind

  17. We got even with Japan for what they did at Pearl Harbor. I don’t feel like we ever got even for the 9/11 attack on the WTC.

  18. Was the most cowardice thing to do. They bomb soldiers Americans bomb civilians. Wonder. Why they surrendered they did it for the sake of people who had nothing to do with the war😢

  19. Make sure and teach your kids why it was dropped on Them. What Americans paid in blood amd treasure to put a stop to those savages. Anything in that museum about that reality ?

  20. Is there a memorial with the names of the lost at Pearl Harbor ?? 😡💪🫡. Remembrance ? Tell them what their grandfathers did. And why it happened. It’s all their fault. Teach them that. Their murderous grandfathers tortured people all over Asia. Savagely. Where is the memorial talking about that ?

  21. The propaganda from this video is nauseating. Instead of asking the Japanese why they don't blame Americans, you should ask them why they don't blame their own government!

  22. Close your eyes, take a deep breath and imagine what Hiroshima smelt like after that bomb had been dropped. Smells good doesn't it? That's the smell of justice.

It's a shame the B29's didn't have a fighter escort. They could have machine gunned any survivors like they did at Dresden.

  23. The Japanese deserved everything they got. They showed no mercy to the Chinese, Koreans, Hawaiians, Pacific Islanders or prisoners of war. They started the war, aligned with the Nazis, and were developing their own atomic bomb. The atrocities they performed across Asia seem to be forgotten in this slanted video.

  24. We didn't start the war. Japan attacked Pearl Harbor and we followed suit by bombing Hiroshima. Let's hope this never happens again.

  25. That is terrorist attack on Japan and America was never prosecuted for a war crime. 🤬For Americans this was just a game because it was not enough to throw one bomb, o no, they throw one more on Nagasaki. Americans, nation who makes a mess all around the world.😡
