Pontocho Alley in Gion, Kyoto, is one of the city’s most atmospheric locations with rows of old traditional houses. It’s a narrow, lantern-lit street lined with restaurants, bars, and teahouses. This place is also where you can spot a geisha (err, it’s maiko, let’s not confuse the two) if you are *very* lucky.
