Taking the Limited Express Fuji Excursion Train to Mount Fuji from Tokyo

Today, I will be taking the limited express Fuji excursion train to Lake Kawaguchi. This train goes all the way to Kawaguchiko station. But my journey will be divided into two parts. I am using my Japan Rail pass and my pass covers the journey until Otsuki station. There, I will buy an additional ticket for 1170 yen to get on the Fujikyu Railway commuter train to Kawaguchiko. The full fare for Tokyo to Kawaguchiko is 4130 yen on the Limited Express Train.

The Limited Express service is operated by the new E353 series trains. The train has ordinary car and green car. In ordinary car, the seats are spacious, comfortable and equipped with tray table, power outlets, bottle holder, coat hanger etc. The seats are of light colour with adjustable headrests and clean head covers. The seats in Green car is even more spacious and equipped with the usuals, with footrest as an additional feature.

From Tokyo, it will take just over an hour to reach Otsuki. And from Otsuki, another 50 mins to reach Kawaguchiko. Kawaguchi is a lake located in Yamanashi prefecture near Mount Fuji. There are five lakes altogether but Kawaguchi happens to be the most famous one. People can enjoy breathtaking views of Mount Fuji with the Lake Kawaguchi at its base.

Many fun trains, sightseeing trains can be seen at Otsuki Station, coming from different directions and going towards Mount Fuji, Fuji Q Highland, Kawaguchiko, Chureito pagoda etc.
