We visited the Shin Yokohama Ramen Museum for lunch | Japan Travel Guide

We visited the Shin Yokohama Ramen Museum for lunch and it was an amazing ramen marathon eating experience! The museum starts at ground level with a modern overview of the history of Ramen in Japan showing all the different types of ramen from various regions. Once you delve into the basement of the museum you are transported back in time to an ancient Japanese town with billboards and decor all set to look like an old town in Japan. From here you can experience 9 different types of Ramen from different regions around the country. Each of the 9 different types will change every once and a while so Ramen covered in the video may not exist in the museum anymore upon visiting. You can try half sized Ramen from each spot in order to give you the best chance of sampling each regions Ramen. Unfortunately, we only made it through 4 spots before throwing int the towel. The main advice I would give is try each different “type” of Ramen if you can in order to gain a full experience. So try a Salt, Shoyu, Miso, and any other unique type of Ramen. That way you get to sample the real variety that Japan has to offer.

Feel free to drop any questions you may have about this experience in the COMMENTS below.
