100隻超えの漁船が疾走！海上神幸「みあれ祭」

ユネスコ（国連教育科学文化機関）の世界文化遺産に登録されている宗像大社（宗像市）の秋季大祭が1日、玄界灘の海上神幸「みあれ祭」を皮切りに始まった。
100隻を超す漁船が、大島から本土の神湊まで約1時間、ご神体を乗せた「御座船」を囲むように疾走。海上安全や豊漁を祈り、大漁旗をたなびかせた。

Fishing boats sail in UNESCO-recognized annual procession in Fukuoka Prefecture

Video footage taken on Oct. 1 shows a fleet of over 100 fishing boats forming a nautical Shinto procession off Munakata, Fukuoka Prefecture. Held annually by the Munakata-taisha shrine, the Miaresai festival is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage and involves the fleet ferrying the local deity between shrines on different islands.
