I absolutely LOVE traveling to lesser known areas of popular countries rather than the major hotspots!
If these countries I mentioned in this video are on your bucket list, I have a challenge for you. Before booking a ticket to the capital city, do some deeper research about the country you’re traveling to. Find off the beaten path destinations that you could visit in these places. Tourism is never going to stop so it might as well be better distributed across countries rather than a dense concentration of tourists in very specific areas. Some places are definitely touristy for good reasons but there’s so much more to the world than the Top 10 tourist attractions!

But lots of these places rely on tourism no? So by not going to any tourist town paces at all ur not rly helping their economy as long as ur respectful to the ppl and area there shouldn’t b a reason not to go especially if u have went
You talked about Macchu Picchu but you showed Huacachina, the oasis in Ica, Perú. But congratulations to encourage the people visit other spots. 👏🏻
I enjoy this video, cheer from Japan.
Very interesting video. Thanks for sharing 👍
the title: “10 tourist destinations to avoid at ALL costs!” the thumbnail: her in two of those spots.
Avoid these places for the sole reason that they are popular? Why would I go to the second tallest mountain? The third oldest city? There’s a reason these places are popular.
Useless video. I guess you just find a better time to go…. Rather than miss out on all this just coz its high season…
Dumb video. I've visited most ilof these places
Bali is spoilt by the locals who have no idea of what plastic is
Tourism is never going to stop…
Covid enters the chat…
Okay first thanks for the work of the video, but i mean why should Americans even I as german should avoid for example Rome. They are so touristic because nobody wants to miss these cities before they die and for sure a lot of people spending a lot of money only to see these cities. It is a dream for them especially when they live in US or Australia.
Meh, fuck that, just go to these places, enjoy them. You only live once.
I love your travel…
What about Algeria 🇩🇿
They choose it the best destination for adventure in the whole world 🌎
This didn't make sense. Why would people avoid a place because its crowded 😐. Every part of the world has its advantages and its disadvantages.
Well, i don't know about anyone else but I think her views were from her perspective only.🤮
What if someone was Interested in visiting those popular places only.
And also personally, I love crowds rather than being in a crowd less place.
as a traveller myself because of my job and italy and japan and south korea are my favourite countries in the world and been to those countries a number of times and will be going back once this disease will come to an end. Lexie yes agree with your comment about rome and its all about timing that is dont go during the summer months but april, and may or september and october its fantastic because the city is beautiful and vibrant but more important its history and culture important in the world. spend more time going Metera and you wouldnt be disappointed , james bond was there. to the point italy is a live musesum with breathtaking landscape with also the dolomites that will take your breath away of its beauty. your video is well done but telling people not going to some places is not right but people should go but timing is important to avoid the crowd.
LOL, my friend went to Kenya to do some volunteer work and got arrested by a dude and some chick with AK-s. They robbed him.
Soooo… Dear reader, your day probably wasn't so bad
If you don't know what to do with your life for the next 20 minutes, you could throw an eye and show him some love. Or not. It's up to you. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3esNAHcRBjw)
Been in most of those places and unfortunately even in low season is hard to enjoy the place mainly because locals have lost their patience and is hard to find the connection with people the way you find in places where they get few visitors. Buildings, beaches, etc are amazingly beautiful but travel is not all about that..
Anyone know Nazi places in South America? Tim Kennedy said there is a Nazi barbershop in South America. I don't know where that is.
amazing video . INteresting thought process
i love this so much your documentary is.very nice
Could you please do a video on what you recommend traveling with, your must haves? Clothes- what to bring and not to bring? Thank you very much!
Tbh you shouldnt avoid paris, its a real french city with beautiful architecture its definitely a city where u must have been one time in ur life for me. If you really dont wanna go i can advice you to go to bordeaux, it kinda looks a little like paris with the nice architecture
Lexie, I'm a new subscriber and have enjoyed many of your vlogs – but this particular message goes against what I believe you stand for … living life fearlessly, trying to take in all you can with a limitless mindset. The message in this vlog is counter-intuitive to a limitless approach and even more shocking is that it's tone-deaf and hypocritical for you to claim limitless as your moniker when you are literally advocating limiting others who want to travel where you've had the privilege of traveling already. I am nearing 50 and may only have a few short years left where I can travel without health concerns, etc. Galapagos and Machu Picchu are two places I would love to visit in my lifetime, and if I'm traveling halfway around the world to get within a thousand miles of those places, I want to see them with my own eyes. Instead of putting out this kind of message, where you are literally trying to LIMIT what others are doing or trying to discover themselves, how about applying your vast travel knowledge with vlogs about how to responsibly visit these once-in-a-lifetime places with applicable tips to avoid peak seasons, etc? Please reconsider the limiting nature of the narrative you are embracing in this vlog, and consider how best to apply your skillset to advise us to be more considerate and conscientious travelers (I think this is your point of this, but I'm too surprised by your tone-deafness to decipher for sure). I'm really surprised that you made this particular vlog at all – it's condescending and beneath you.
Dhamz! She is sexy as fire👌
as a Dutch person, I would like to remind people that Amsterdam is just one of many cities in the Netherlands. We have more cities and towns that are worth a visit than there are days in a year.
People are not going to avoid these countries the best thing to do is just respect people's space travel responsibility and protect our earth as human beings👌🏽💯
1 Paris France
2 Venice Italy
3 Barcelona Spain
4 Santorini Greece
5 Bali Indonesia
6 Phuket Thailand
7 Mt Everest
8 Machu Pichu Peru
9 Hawaii USA
10 Galapagos Islands, Equador
The Nepalese porters appreciate the money, and one need not go to the summit of Mt. Everest. You can hike for about 10 days and go to Everest base camp, then come back. Myself, I wouldn't bother as I think that mountain needs to be off-limits for a while. Have people clean it up and leave it alone. But Kara and Nate made a nice series showing the hike to base camp. Hawaii has been talking about wanting to leave the US for years. I say let it go. I'm in California so I get to visit beaches, mountains, deserts, and cities. Nice video.
The best district to me in Paris is Montmartre. I found a dirt cheap room and close to the subway. Stay away from the restaurants near the Eiffel tower… tourist traps!
So basically don’t go to any of the most people bucket list of place to see in their lifetime. I am not so sure about this video suggestion.
Interesting subject. When the main interest of a place is nature we should indeed avoid it because people are actually destroying it (Phuket, Mayan bay, Borracay, etc) and there are many other options. If many cities are popular is because they are so special. Venice is so unique, but it's problem comes mainly from cruise ships. I hope soon they will be banned. As for Paris and Barcelona people should go off season. Peru is already allowing a maximum amount of tourist to visit the Machu Pichu. As for Bali, it's culture is so different from the one in Indonesia, they don't compare. The main problem is encountered in the beach regions on the south filled with party crazyness. Go to the North to learn about the hinduism culture and see the most beautiful sceneries. Finally, if all the stupid tourists that have no respect for the people, their culture and nature move to other places it will just move the problem.
Brunei and Timor leste doesn’t really have much to do. How was your experience in both countries??
She's been to all of those beautiful touristy, must see locations so that we don't have to. How precious is she! 😅
Good advice you are a true traveler
I totally get why you recommend avoiding tourist hotspots. Some of my most rewarding travel experiences have been off the beaten path. But to tell people to avoid hotspots seems unfair for those with limited travel time and money. For people who will make one trip to France in their lives, how can you expect them to skip Paris?
Wonderful effort to make awareness about respect and compassion towards local community and ecosystems 👍👍👍
Hi honey angel your a sky angel 💖 10 place you showed me every place very nice buityful angel bye good night honey angel ❤️ india
i was lucky enough to go to hawaii to see family earlier this summer. the locals i met personally were so proud of their culture and happy to share it with me, all i can say is travel with respect for the people, animals and land, and go to random places you find or drive past, not the popular famous spots!!
Travel Destinations to Avoid : The coolest ones? Nahh I can do Paris without the Eifel and plus there's much more of france than just paris..
Didn't you have a bad experience in Egypt? I haven't watched that one yet, but working on it
What is that place at 5:25 ?
Why do people feel the need to do virtue signaling pieces like this? Others may not have as much time and resource as you. They may not care about travel as much as you do. Why can’t they visit any places they like, as long as it’s legal. Also, I watched some of your videos. And I didn’t learn anything new. The cinematography is quite nice though.
If the countries do not want the tourist dollars they could restrict permits for the tours or the contractors selling them. It is hard for me to believe Mt Everest is over crowded when a permit to climb it is about $75,000,- per person.
The easiest way I have found to avoid the crowns is to travel in the off season.
I have been to many of these places. I loved Rome, but I didn’t go there during the peak season, I went off the beaten path to buy water and food, instead of the crazy prices for stuff close to the Colosseum, and I always try to learn the language (at least general phrases and questions), and be polite.
It also helps not to dress very American (dress a bit more local), and don’t overdo it with photos, because you don’t really go back and look at thousands of photos anyway. Just take pictures of really important things for you, and moments. Don’t waste money on a ton of souvenirs that will end up in boxes. Only get maybe one or two things from a country that have meaning for you and are a bit better quality. My best times traveling were unexpected and with locals, just having fun and experiencing life. They were SO much more fun than the big tourist destinations, although you should at least see something like the Eiffel Tower or go to Venice once.
I don’t have Lexie’s experience, but I was in the military, and I’ve been to 36 countries, and I totally agree that you should never travel on a tourist bus or as part of a group. Maybe a friend or two, or significant other, but not a big group, rushing through everything. That isn’t nearly as fun, and sometimes ends up being more expensive.
The best travel destinations is always most crowded.
Every new traveler who wants to see any/all of these places should 100% go see them. Do not listen to a seasoned traveler who has gotten to experience places like Paris, Rome, Barcelona, Bali and now is suggesting you do not go see them. Also when you first start traveling, go see as many places as you can or want to. I now kind of stay away from the most touristy places and stay much longer in each location but that is only after I was able to see so much when I was first traveling and desiring to see anything and everything.
