  9. I'm gonna rewrite this comment again for the fourth time. I never thought I'd actually watch through the full video but I watched every minute of it and didnt regret one second. I watched the Brussels beer one first as I'm Belgian and was curious to see how an American (sorry to say that) would again say things like "I thought Manneke Pis was bigger" or "Brussels dissapoints because we thought it would be like London or New York style". You go in with an open mind and researched the places you'll go to just enough to be able to say truly correct and informative things without any judgment and allowing the locals to add to the informative story in a respectful, relaxed and postive minded conversation with the host showing sincere interest. You found great spots in BXL. Like how does a foreigner end up at "T' Spinnekopke"?? I lived 1 street away from that amazing place for years and never saw a foreigner there! Especially not somemone from overseas! When I thought you never would be able to end on a high, you just delivered the best part of the vid with the amazing guy from Atrium who shows what a real Belgian is! What a cool dude! Cant wait to go visit and taste there myself! Chops on the Maredsous piece as well! Now I'm off to discovering all your other vids and of course will watch the flanders one as well! Thank you for this video! It made me so happy to see my country be portrayed in this way!

  10. Manneken Pis is said to have pissed on the fuse of some powder kegs at the city gates, putting them out and saving the city from getting sacked by the French. The first drawing of the city with the statue is dated back to 1615. So over 150 years before the U.S. was a country. And we don't know how long that statue was there before the first drawing of it. I loved how actor Aaron Paul, Jesse Pinkman in Breaking Bad, gave a tour of his house (it's on youtube) for some show and had this 'little statue of a boy pissing' set on his ashtray not realizing it was a copy of our Manneken Pis and not knowing the significance of it. It's been fought over for centuries. The Germans took it away in WW2, Napoleon had it removed, some British soldiers tried to steal it… Don't mess with our Manneken Pis or sh!t gets real. The Germans taking it away in 1940 is said to have started the Underground rumbling and forming a cohesive militia against them. You should have atleast visited Bruges and our pub that's been a drinking hole since 1515 A.D. I've seen tourists go really quite in there when they get buzzed and realize people have lost braincells drinking there for over half a millennia. But let me know if you ever do visit, I'll get you a nice discount. 'Cause Brussels is Belgium, but not worthy the name… it's not Flanders, it's not the Ancient Belgians Julius Caesar coined as the 'Bravest fighters I never conquered' in his diary 'Galo Belgica' That is us Dutch speaking (a germanic language cause we never got conquered by the Romans and didn't start speaking a Romantic language like French) Flemish. That's who the Ancient Belgians were.😁

  11. Bro you really went all in on the food and drinks. 😄 Such a great representation of belgian cuisine while avoiding most tourist traps. 🙌
