  1. Thanks Max! It would have been nice to cover how much Avianca charges for cancellations and changes

  2. For some reason, the LifeMiles website is giving me so many issues. I know its out of your control but its near impossible for anything to load anything on the site. :/

  3. Thank you for the quick explanation! Would you say this is the best redemption for Capitol one miles? I’m flying this exact route

  4. They have a great program, the issue comes when you need customer service. You'll work for 3 days just to get ahold of someone. If they can fix this the program would be a no brainer.

  5. Have you had any issues with finding award availability and then it immediately disappearing on lifemiles? That happens to me all the time and then the availability shows up again the next day

  6. Was really disappointed by the fact that you didn’t mention where is the best place to search for star alliance awards knowing that LifeMiles tends to show ghost awards. LifeMiles must’ve worked a deal with you to sponsor their search engine. Would prefer to watch the videos where you’re not biased by personal gain decisions.

  7. I used Lifemiles for a last minute Europe domestic with Austrian for 5,000 back in July. It was €400+ if I were to pay in cash. Generally, I do find Avianca to have better redemption value compared to other Star Alliance.

  8. Make sure u don’t get Ethiopian airlines! We got screwed when LifeMiles used them as connecting flight from Milan to Zurich. Our booking was not honored! We ended up paying for economy so we don’t miss our Zurich flight to OHare. We enjoyed our Swiss business class though. But the Ethiopian flight was a disaster. Filthy airline I’m sorry to say. Never again!

  9. Lifemiles does not have the same availability as United and Air Canada. Their system often gliches and much harder to find premium cabin seats.

  10. The cross-crossing, zooming, weaving graphic for transfer partners is one of those simple pleasures in your videos. Unmistakable. I see ANA on that graphic too. Will you make an ANA program video? I wanna try using them…nervous 😅 I did recently make my first LifeMiles redemption 🎉

  11. I love purchasing LifeMiles when they have a sale going on. There are so many arbitrage opportunities. Even better, purchasing LifeMiles codes as airline travel, so you can earn 3-5x when you purchase using a travel card!

  12. Bi, Max. If i am planning to fly turkish airlines from us to europe. From the cost prrspective would it be more efficient to transfer my miles feom capital 1 to turkish airlines/miles and smiles or to avianca/ life miles?

  13. Although the redemption value from life miles is usually a little better than Air Canada PLEASE NOTE: if you have to make any changes to your booking LifeMiles is notorious for having terrible customer service. Calling to make a change is no easy task. Additionally, LifeMiles customer service and Avianca customer service are two very separate support lines and they have little to no information about each other. This makes for a very difficult experience when calling to make a change.

Also, booking through Aircanda is a much better user experience. Both the app and website are much more user friendly.

If you have a few extra points to spare I would highly recommend considering Aircanda over LifeMiles/Avianca

  14. Max your videos are useful. Thank you. However, why not also mention some of the negatives? For example, Avianca LifeMiles expire after 12 months of inactivity. And not easily extendable (can only extend by earning miles, not by redeeming). Don't you think your audience should be aware of?

  15. My wife and I are looking to take a vacation to Europe next year and we have 100k Capital One Miles saved up. We don’t know the dates of our travel yet, so would it be worth transferring them over during this 15% boost or wait? Seems like the points expire in Life Miles bank after 12 months of no activity.

  16. What browser to use with Avianca lifemiles? Ive always had problems with the website, it freezes or never loads when i sign in. I’ve used chrome and safari.

  17. This august i tried to book with Avianca, but the page errored out at checkout (with a CORS error). Have you experienced this ever and has it been resolved?

  18. I like using Life miles as they are usually fair redemption rates, however does anyone else seem to get their ip banned? I can no longer see the website from home without or work. Currently only my phone will work now.

  19. I’m new to the points and miles game. I’ve watched lots of videos and see that you content creators often search for a one-way flight vs round-trip. Is their a reason for this? Say I wanted to fly from Boston to Rome, using points and miles, and then fly home. Why wouldn’t I search for a round-trip flight? Is there something I’m missing? Thank you, I enjoy your videos.
