Our van life adventure in Germany is coming to an end, we’re on our way back to Berlin to get going with the paperwork to start the exportation process from Germany into Spain.. It’s not an easy task as Spain is very strict with importing anything into the country (especially if it’s been modified).. But hopefully we’ve found a way.. Van life in our new home on wheels has been easy here in Germany, so many great free places to stay in a van and now before we leave, we hope to share a few cool places along the way before the long journey south to Andalucia begins..

Fit air bags easy to do
Do a half circle shower curtain hoop so it's at the back and sides when you shower and covers the loo.
Sometimes yoghurt can be a good substitute for mayo, I'm using it for butter along with humous. Thanks for another great video. Happy progress

If all fails on account of bureaucracy you're welcome to use my German address for a second home and register the van in Germany. (Saarbrücken, near the French border. Easy drive from Spain.) F..k all bureaucrats! 😉

Good luck with all the paperwork to get exporting / importing of the van 🤞🤞🤞 its just crazy that you would need to strip the van then replace everything after its been excepted 🤦♀️ thats an awful cost ( in my eyes not to mention the stress of stripping finding some where to keep the contents of van mean while )
Lets hope they way you have found even if it cost a lot more beter than the first option.

I was at the Externsteine for the first time just a couple of weeks ago an my way from Hannover to Köln. Interesting, but it was quite crowded, maybe because it was still school holidays. Enjoy your time.

Just a thought, looking at the layout of the van, and needing to add light / air ( as you mentioned), im thinking a coupe of those narrow, round ended sliding windows (bonded / tinted) up high in the side panels would work well ?

Export plates isn't normally a problem, as long as the German MOT (TÜV) is still valid for the period you want these plates to be valid for.

Watching you work so hard, remembers me about my house i just sold. But now it already start itching in my fingers and hands to do some work again. So here would have been my list in order of priority. (1) paperwork legality importation change of use etc. (2) leaf springs. (3) FULL service. It's strange you have to import something when both countries are in the EU! I get it that you'll need it to be registered in Spain with Spanish plates. But without a list of priorities all the work you have done could be in vain.

Hi, have you considered fitting rear air suspension, best thing I’ve added to my boxer with gauges and compressor, good when running with full water tanks etc and even saves getting the level ramps out sometimes. Cheers steve
Good luck with the import. We imported from the UK to France our tag axle 4.5 tonne motorhome. It is an extremely difficult bureaucratic process. It took 4 months and ended up with a working file 2" thick. Apparentlly the time it took me was quite quick and many other just gave up. I know you'll do it, but be prepared for a long slog. Keep the videos coming, we love it.
