The Kaigan Line (海岸線) is the second of the two subway lines operated by the Kobe Municipal Subway (神戸市営地下鉄). Its rolling stock is operated using linear motors, and the line was first opened in 2001. It is a short 7.8km line consisting of 10 stations.
The Kobe Municipal 5000 Series was manufactured by Kawasaki Heavy Industries and uses IGBT-VVVF propulsion system from Mitsubishi Electric.
