Day 1
Our fun day of contemplation and exploration of the great outdoors starts with ‘zazen’ meditation, followed by some ‘yakuzen’ cuisine inspired by Chinese medicine and a fun hike up Mt. Aoba, the region’s own Mt. Fuji.

The sumptuous ‘ryokan’ traditional inn we stay at is also worth a watch. (For dinner, we even get to try some of that ‘fugu’ blowfish, the stuff of legends!)

▪ How to get to Takahama:
From the JR Tsuruga Station (located a 1.5-hour train ride away from #Osaka/#Kyoto or #Kanazawa), take a train for Higashi-Maizuru on the Obama Line and get off at the Wakasa-Takahama Station (about 1 hour 45 minutes/1,340 JPY or around $13 US)
