Today’s Japan Walking Tour is the popular sightseeing spot Meganebashi Bridge in Nagasaki.
Meganebashi Bridge, which spans the Nakashima River, is Japan’s oldest arched stone bridge, built in 1634 by Zen Master Mokusu Nyojo of Kofukuji Temple. It is said that it got its name because its reflection on the river surface looks like glasses, and it is said to be one of Japan’s three famous bridges.
I crossed Meganebashi Bridge, passed through the Nakadori shopping street, and walked through the Teramachi where Kofukuji Temple is located.
今回のウォーキングツアーは長崎の人気観光地眼鏡橋です。
中島川に架かる眼鏡橋は日本最古のアーチ型石橋で1634年に興福寺の黙子如定禅師によって架設されました。川面に映る姿が「メガネ」に見えることからこの名前がついたと言われ、日本三名橋と言われています。
眼鏡橋を渡り中通り商店街を抜け興福寺のある寺町を歩きました。
