This is a one-shot video of a walk around Koenji Station on the day of the Tokyo Koenji Awa Odori dance in August 2023. The Koenji Awa Odori is said to be the largest Awa Odori dance in Tokyo. The other day, I also went to see the Otsuka Awa Odori, but I certainly felt that Koenji was more crowded. Unlike ordinary festivals, many people participate in the Awa Odori as dancers, so the streets are filled with a mixture of participants and spectators, making it an enthusiastic festival.
