Today’s Train: Hello Kitty Haruka Express
Operates between Kyoto and Osaka Kansai airport.
Journey time: 1 hour 20 mins.
The Hello Kitty Haruka express began its journey in 2019. The train operates between Kyoto and Osaka Kansai Airport. After leaving Kyoto, the train stops at Shin Osaka and Tennoji. Total journey time 1 hour 20 mins. Maximum speed 130 km/h.
The whole train is decorated in Hello Kitty theme. The front of train has an adorable designs. The walls by the windows and doors are also adorned with floral and Kitty motifs. The colourful design featuring little origami cranes, Kitty’s ribbons, with Kitty being the centre of attention. The seats are light coloured, the head cover also features Kitty, sitting in japanese style, wearing a kimono.
The washroom, sink area are also decorated in Kitty theme.
The train is an old model train but it’s clean and has all the necessary facilities. The train does not have an onboard food or beverage facilities. The train is an airport transfer train and has adequate luggage storage facility.
Kyoto to Kansai Airport, standard ticket costs 1910 yen. You will have to pay an additional 1530 yen to reserve a seat. The train also has a Green Car. Green class ticket costs 4210 yen for the journey. To have your head cover with little Kitty in Kimono, you must book a seat. As non reserved seating doesn’t have Kitty in kimono on the head cover. The journey is fully covered by Japan Rail Pass.
I think Hello Kitty Haruka express is the CUTEST airport transfer train in Japan. It can also be one of the CUTEST airport transfer train in the world. If you love Hello Kitty and Kitty White, be sure to ride the train when you are travelling in that particular area.
